Doolally Taproom
Doolally was one of India's first craft breweries, and the Bandra taproom remains its flagship. The space is casual and open, with long communal tables, exposed ductwork, and a row of taps pouring house-brewed beers that you can't find anywhere else. The brewing happens on-site at their Pune facility, but the Bandra location gets first pour on new batches. No cocktails, no spirits. Beer is the point.
What to Expect
A relaxed craft beer taproom with communal seating, a rotating tap list of 8 to 12 house-brewed beers, and a food menu built around beer pairings. The crowd is younger and more casual than Bandra's cocktail bars. Dogs are welcome.
Relaxed, social, and unpretentious. The communal tables encourage interaction. Regulars know the staff by name. Weekend evenings are livelier but never aggressive.
Background indie and acoustic playlists. No DJ, no live music. Conversation is the soundtrack.
None. Come as you are. Shorts and sandals are normal here.

Full Review
Doolally Taproom in Bandra represents a specific slice of Mumbai's drinking culture: the craft beer movement that took off around 2012 and never looked back. The space is industrial-casual, with high ceilings, metal and wood furnishings, and a visible tap system behind the bar. Communal tables dominate the floor plan, which forces a social dynamic that works well for groups and solo drinkers alike.
The beer menu rotates around a core of six to eight house brews plus seasonal experiments. The Belgian Wit is their flagship and consistently good. The Apple Cider is popular in warmer months. Seasonal batches include mango ales, coffee stouts, and herb-infused experiments that range from excellent to forgettable. A tasting flight (four small pours for 500 INR) is the smart way to sample.
Food is designed to complement the beer. Pizzas, burgers, and bar snacks are competent if unremarkable, priced at 300 to 700 INR. The wood-fired pizzas are the best option on the menu.
Doolally's position in Bandra's ecosystem is as a starting point. People begin their evening here, with a couple of pints and food, before moving on to bars or clubs. The atmosphere supports this: it's energetic enough to feel social but calm enough to have a conversation and plan the rest of the night.
Compared to other craft beer spots (The Barking Deer in Lower Parel, Brewdog's Mumbai outpost), Doolally wins on location and legacy. Being in Bandra means it pulls the right crowd. Being first to market means it has institutional loyalty.
