Roastery Coffee House
Roastery Coffee House is among the few specialty coffee venues in Sharjah operating with a genuine single-origin and brew-method focus. The Al Majaz Waterfront branch has an indoor air-conditioned section with a non-smoking policy and a smaller outdoor terrace. The coffee program covers pour-over, Chemex, and AeroPress alongside the standard espresso menu, with rotating beans from Ethiopia, Colombia, and Guatemala. The food menu is café-appropriate: croissants, avocado toast, pastries, and a small selection of savory sandwiches. Roastery is positioned at the upper end of Sharjah's café market, with prices that reflect the specialty sourcing. No alcohol in Sharjah. The clientele is noticeably more cosmopolitan than at the Arabic cafés on the promenade, with more Western and East Asian expat representation.

Full Review
Roastery sits on the south end of the Al Majaz Waterfront commercial strip, with a façade that blends into the surrounding retail units without much fanfare. Inside, the space is clean and well-designed: exposed brick on one wall, white tile on the counter, wood furniture throughout. The non-smoking indoor policy is strictly enforced, which makes it immediately distinguishable from every other venue in the area.
The espresso is well-extracted across visits. Milk texture on flat whites and cappuccinos is consistent rather than variable, which is the key differentiator between specialty and standard café production. The pour-over program is the headline offering: the staff take it seriously, use proper scales and timing, and will talk through the origin notes if you ask. Ethiopian washed coffees appear regularly on the menu and are the standout option when available.
Food is café-appropriate and well-executed for the format. The croissants are baked in-house. The avocado toast at AED 55 is unremarkable but correct. Nobody is coming here primarily for the food.
The outdoor terrace works well on cooler evenings and has three tables with canal-facing views. Indoor capacity is around 30 covers. On busy mornings, both sections fill quickly. The evening hours are quieter than the Arabic cafés nearby, which makes it a practical option for a first coffee of the evening before moving to a shisha venue later.
