Lock, Stock & Barrel
Lock, Stock & Barrel operates from the Rixos Premium JBR and has earned its reputation as one of Dubai's best party bars. Live bands play covers of crowd-pleasers from rock to pop to hip-hop six nights a week, and the energy in the room matches a proper concert rather than background hotel music. Big screens show major sporting events, and the place erupts during Premier League matches and UFC fights. The food menu runs American-style comfort food: ribs, burgers, and loaded fries. Drinks are priced at the lower end of hotel bar range, making it one of the better value propositions on the JBR strip.
What to Expect
A loud, high-energy bar with live music and a crowd that's there to have a good time. Not a place for quiet conversation. The band sets the tone, and by mid-evening the entire bar is on its feet. Expect a mixed crowd of expats, tourists, and hotel guests.
Loud, fun, and reliably energetic. One of the few Dubai bars that feels like a proper neighborhood pub turned up to eleven.
Live cover bands playing classic rock, pop, hip-hop, and crowd favorites. No DJ sets; the band is the main act.
Casual to smart casual. This is a party bar, not a lounge. Clean jeans and a shirt are fine.
Sports fans, live music lovers, and anyone who wants a fun, no-pretense night out in Dubai.
Cards and cash accepted. Tab system available.

Full Review
You enter through the Rixos Premium JBR lobby and follow signs to the bar, which occupies a large rectangular room with a central stage, a long bar along one wall, and a mix of high tables and booth seating. The design is industrial-pub: exposed brick, metal fixtures, and neon signage. It's not trying to be sophisticated, and that's the point.
The live bands are the draw. They typically play two sets of 90 minutes each, covering everything from AC/DC to Drake to Abba. The quality is consistently good; Dubai's live music circuit pays well and attracts talented performers from across the region. Between sets, the sound system fills the gap with a party playlist.
Food is American bar fare done well. The ribs are a popular order, as are the chicken wings. Portions are generous. Service is fast during the early evening and slows predictably as the dance floor fills and the bartenders shift focus.
The crowd is predominantly British, South African, and Australian expats, with a sprinkling of tourists who stumbled in and stayed. Thursday nights are the busiest, with queue times reaching 30-45 minutes after 10 PM. The venue has a second location in Barsha Heights that's less crowded but smaller.
The main weakness is noise. Once the band starts, conversation is impossible anywhere in the room. If you want to talk, come before 8:30 PM or find a corner booth. The main strength is that this bar consistently delivers one of the best nights out in JBR without the pretense or prices of the Marina's bigger venues.
