Mishawi Restaurant
Mishawi Restaurant at Al Qasba specializes in Levantine grilled meats with an outdoor terrace along the canal walk and shisha service running until late. The name means 'grills' in Arabic, which accurately describes the kitchen's focus: lamb and chicken skewers, mixed grills, kafta, and whole chicken prepared over charcoal. The menu also covers mezze in the standard Levantine format: hummus, mutabbal, tabbouleh, and fattoush. No alcohol in Sharjah. Mishawi draws a predominantly Arab clientele, with families and groups of young men constituting most of the evening crowd. The shisha service runs concurrently with dining, which means the outdoor terrace accommodates people who want a full dinner and a pipe in the same sitting.

Insider Tip
Order the mixed grill platter and mezze spread for two or more; the individual skewer orders work out more expensive per gram of protein. Request the terrace seats facing the canal rather than the street side. The shisha coals here are managed attentively, which is not universal across Sharjah venues.
Full Review
Mishawi's Al Qasba terrace seats around 30 covers outdoors, with another 20 inside in an air-conditioned section. The design is utilitarian: metal chairs, plastic-covered tables, and a shisha preparation station visible from the terrace. No design awards are coming this way. But the charcoal grill behind the open kitchen is the relevant piece of equipment here, and it produces consistent results.
The lamb chops (AED 45 for three pieces) are the menu standout. Well-seasoned with a spice rub that includes cumin and sumac, grilled to a slight char without drying out. The chicken skewers run AED 38 and are competently done without particular distinction. The kafta (minced meat skewers) at AED 32 are better than average for the format.
Mezze is solid Levantine standard: the mutabbal has proper smokiness from oven-charred eggplant, the hummus is fresh and correctly textured. Prices for individual mezze dishes (AED 18-22) are fair by UAE standards.
Shisha service is the secondary reason people stay after eating. The setup time is around five minutes, and the coal management is more attentive than at some higher-profile venues. Standard tobaccos are available; Apple and Two Apples are the most common orders. Grape mint at AED 80 is worth the price jump from the standard blends.
The Al Qasba setting means it benefits from the canal walk foot traffic without charging the premium that canal-front positioning sometimes generates at busier tourist destinations.
The Neighborhood
Mishawi sits on the Al Qasba canal boardwalk in the southern section of the entertainment district, closer to the entrance than the Ferris wheel. Other canal restaurants are within 100-200 meters in either direction.
Getting There
Same access as all Al Qasba venues. The restaurant is clearly signed from the main boardwalk. Parking in the Al Qasba car park off Al Arouba Road is free.
