Black Tap Sharjah
Black Tap Sharjah is the UAE franchise of the New York-origin craft burger and Crazy Shakes concept. The venue occupies a canal-facing unit at Al Qasba, with indoor diner seating and a small outdoor terrace over the water. The menu transfers directly from the original brand: towering burgers with premium ingredients, all-beef patties, and the signature Crazy Shakes that arrive in a glass overloaded with cake, candy, and elaborate garnishes. No alcohol is available here, but the brand has adapted seamlessly to the UAE market by leaning into the milkshake side of the menu. The Crazy Shakes at AED 55-75 are the main photogenic draw and contribute to the social media volume this venue generates. Food quality is consistent and genuinely good: the burger patties are properly seasoned and cooked to order.

What to Expect
A loud, colorful American diner experience without the alcohol. The visual presentation of the Crazy Shakes is the point as much as the taste. Good burger quality. Noisy on weekends with families and younger groups who are here for the Instagram content as much as the food.
Energetic and casual. High tables, diner stools, and a social noise level.
Upbeat contemporary pop at moderate-to-high volume. Standard American diner music policy.
Casual. Sharjah dress code applies. No specific dress requirement beyond that.
Families with children, groups wanting a fun casual dinner before an evening walk along Al Qasba, and anyone who wants good burgers in a non-alcoholic setting.
Cards and cash accepted.

Crazy Shakes are substantial; one between two is genuinely enough. Come before 7 PM to avoid the queue for walk-in canal-terrace seating. Ordering for delivery is faster than waiting for a table on peak evenings.
Full Review
Black Tap's Al Qasba unit is not large: maybe 50 covers inside and 10 on the outdoor canal terrace. The design brings the brand aesthetic intact from New York: exposed brick, neon signs, black and white photography. It lands well in the context of Al Qasba's international brand mix, which is already more Western-influenced than the older parts of Sharjah.
The burgers are the most consistent quality item on the menu. The All-American burger (AED 95) covers the classic format well: properly seasoned beef, cheese melted correctly, fresh bun. The meat is not the premium dry-aged quality of a standalone burger restaurant, but it's notably above the regional fast-food standard. Cooking times are respected; medium means medium here.
The Crazy Shakes are theater as much as food. The Sweet Tea 'N' Lemonade (AED 65) arrives with a full slice of lemon cake balanced on the rim, caramel drizzle down the outside of the glass, and a straw that disappears into the milkshake below. Taste is secondary to spectacle, which is the brand's stated intention. They are very sweet by any standard.
Service during peak hours (Friday and Saturday evenings) stretches. The queue for walk-in tables can reach 30-40 minutes. Delivery via Deliveroo and Talabat is available and bypasses the wait entirely if you're staying nearby. The canal terrace seats fill first and are genuinely the better option for an evening visit.
