Bios
Bios operates from a five-story converted industrial building at Pireos 84, between the Gazi district and Metaxourgeio, running as part cultural center, part bar, and part underground club. The ground floor holds rotating art and installation exhibitions that change every few weeks. A mid-level floor functions as the main bar, serving cocktails at EUR 7-10 and beer at EUR 4-6. The rooftop terrace occupies the top floors with panoramic views across the Athenian skyline, with no reservation system and no minimum spend. The basement is the venue most focused space: a low-ceilinged former storage area converted into a club room that programs techno, deep house, and experimental electronic music on weekends. Basement nights charge EUR 5-10 at the door. The building retains significant industrial character throughout.

Insider Tip
Check the basement event schedule online before going; the nights with known DJs draw different crowds. The rooftop is best accessed early in the evening before the basement crowd arrives. The middle-floor bar makes stronger drinks than the rooftop bar and has shorter lines on busy nights.
Full Review
Bios has operated at the intersection of culture and nightlife since the early 2000s, and it has not needed to reinvent itself because it understood the format early.
The rooftop is where most visitors start, drawn by the views and the accessible entry price of zero. The terrace is large enough to absorb a crowd without feeling claustrophobic, and the combination of Athens roofscape with the visible outline of the Acropolis in the distance gives the space quality that few rooftop bars in the city match.
The gallery space changes the building ground-floor identity on a regular cycle. Some exhibitions are accessible and visually engaging; others require more context. Either way, the gallery signals that this venue has a program beyond selling drinks.
The basement is the venue most focused offering. On a good electronic music night, with a DJ who knows the room and a crowd that came specifically for the music, the low-ceilinged space operates at a different level of intensity. If you have been in Berlin better clubs, you will recognize the formula.
