Cerveceria Jazz
Cerveceria Jazz is a beer bar at the foot of Carrer Blai, Poble Sec's famous pintxos street. While most bars on Blai compete on cheap pintxos, Jazz carved a niche with a serious beer selection. The taps rotate through Spanish craft breweries and European imports, with around 15 options at any time plus a longer bottle list. A draft beer runs EUR 3-5 depending on the brewery, which is fair for the quality. The bar is small, with a handful of tables inside and a few on the sidewalk. Despite the jazz name, there's no live music; the reference is more atmospheric than literal. The crowd is a mix of beer enthusiasts, neighborhood regulars, and people taking a break from the pintxos crawl happening along the rest of the street. Staff know their beer list and will guide you toward something you'll like if you describe your preferences. The food menu is limited to basic snacks that pair with beer. The bar stays busy from early evening through midnight, with peak crowds on weekend evenings when Carrer Blai is in full swing.

Full Review
Cerveceria Jazz stands out on Carrer Blai because it's not trying to sell you EUR 1 pintxos. The focus is on the beer taps behind the bar, each labeled with the brewery and style. The selection leans toward Spanish craft breweries, which most visitors don't know exist, plus a handful of Belgian, German, and British options.
The staff are genuine beer people. On my visit, the bartender walked me through three different IPAs from Catalan breweries, describing each with the kind of detail you'd expect at a specialty bottle shop. The recommendations were spot-on. A half-pint taster of something unusual is always available if you're not sure about committing to a full pour.
The space is small, and on a Saturday evening it was standing room only by 8 PM. Most people were doing the Carrer Blai circuit, stopping for pintxos at one bar, beer at Jazz, more pintxos at the next place. This natural flow keeps the crowd rotating and the energy steady.
The only limitation is food. If you want to eat properly, step out to any of the dozens of pintxos bars within a two-minute walk and come back. Jazz isn't competing on food, and it doesn't need to. The beer is the reason to stop here.
The Neighborhood
Cerveceria Jazz sits at the bottom of Carrer Blai, Poble Sec's famous pintxos street. The street fills every evening with people doing a progressive bar crawl from one end to the other. Jazz's beer focus gives it a distinct identity among the pintxos-focused neighbors.
Getting There
Metro L2/L3 to Paral-lel station, then a 3-minute walk south to Carrer Blai. The bar is near the eastern end of the street, close to where Blai intersects with Carrer de Tapioles.
