Urban Bar
Urban Bar positions itself in the gap between Clausen's pubs and its sole nightclub, offering a cocktail-forward experience with DJ sets that grow in intensity as the evening progresses. The interior uses industrial-chic design: exposed brick, metal fixtures, and low lighting that creates an atmosphere closer to a Berlin lounge than a Luxembourg pub. The bar counter is long and well-stocked, with bartenders who handle both classic cocktails and the house specials with competence. The DJ booth activates from around 10 PM on weekends, starting with deep house and building toward more energetic sets by midnight. The dance floor is small but functional, accommodating perhaps 40 people at a squeeze. The crowd is typically 25-40, dressed for a night out, and split between people who intend to move to The Tube later and those for whom Urban Bar is the final destination.
What to Expect

Stylish and transitional. It shifts smoothly from a sophisticated bar to a soft-edged club as the hours pass.
Deep house, nu-disco, and funk early. More energetic house and techno as the night progresses
Smart casual. The crowd dresses well. Jeans are fine; sneakers are a stretch.
Cocktail lovers who want music but not a full club. The bridge between pub drinks and late-night dancing

Full Review
Urban Bar fills a niche in Clausen that would otherwise be empty: the space between pub drinking and proper clubbing. If Scott's is where the night starts and The Tube is where it ends, Urban Bar is the middle chapter, and it plays the role well.
The cocktail program is the standout. The bartenders have training, and the menu shows thought. House specials change seasonally, and the classics are made with proper technique. In a valley where most venues serve pints and basic mixed drinks, having cocktails that are actually worth ordering puts Urban Bar in a different category.
The DJ transition is the venue's signature move. Early in the evening, the music is background-level lounge, and the bar functions as a cocktail spot for conversation. Around 10 PM, the volume rises, the lighting dims further, and the small dance floor starts to fill. By midnight, Urban Bar is a club in all but name, with the DJ playing energetic house to a crowd that's been warming up for hours.
The space is small enough that it fills quickly on popular nights, creating an intimate intensity that bigger venues can't match. The downside of that intimacy is that once it's full, it's hot and loud and there's nowhere to retreat. The lack of outdoor space is a limitation, particularly in summer when Pygmalion's terrace is the better option.
Urban Bar closes at 2 AM, which pushes the late-night crowd to The Tube for the final stretch. This natural flow between venues is part of what makes Clausen work as a night-out district.
