Kuplung. the ruin bar that occupied a former car repair shop on Király utca 46, decorated with a giant whale, jellyfish lanterns, and deep-sea diver figures. closed permanently in 2018 when the site was sold for luxury apartment development. It had run since the early days of the Budapest ruin bar scene and was known for its weekday cheap drinks policy: almost every drink at just 360 HUF Sunday through Wednesday. The apartments now stand where the whale once hung. Any listing showing Kuplung as open is years out of date.
