Blue Praia Bar
Blue Praia Bar is a seafront bar on Rua da Paciência with Bahian cuisine, draft beer, and a deck looking out over the Atlantic. The space combines an indoor restaurant area with an outdoor deck that extends toward the seafront, with the deck being the venue's main feature. The kitchen runs Bahian classics (moqueca, bobó, vatapá, grilled fish) at slightly higher prices than the inland botecos. The cocktail program is more developed than the typical Rio Vermelho boteco, with house signatures using Brazilian tropical fruits and serious caipirinha builds. Pricing reflects the seafront positioning: beer R$15-22, cocktails R$28-45, mains R$60-110. The crowd is heavy on Brazilian visitors, polished Salvador locals, and a smaller foreign-tourist presence.

Insider Tip
Book a deck table for sunset (around 5:30 PM) for the best Atlantic views. The moqueca is the kitchen's signature; expect 35 minutes from order to serve. The cocktails are more developed than typical Rio Vermelho; the house builds are worth ordering over standard caipirinhas.
Full Review
Blue Praia Bar sits on Rua da Paciência along the Rio Vermelho seafront, occupying a multi-level space with an indoor restaurant on the ground floor and the outdoor deck extending toward the Atlantic. The deck runs along the building's seafront frontage with a low railing, scattered low tables, and ambient lighting overhead. Capacity sits around 100 between indoor and outdoor.
The Bahian kitchen is the venue's anchor. Moqueca de peixe and bobó de camarão are the signature dishes at R$150-200 for two, served in clay pots with rice, farofa, and pirão. Vatapá, caruru, and grilled fish plates round out the menu at R$60-95. Execution is consistent and the kitchen handles higher prices with the corresponding quality bump over the inland boteco kitchens.
Compared to Vila Caramuru a few minutes inland, Blue Praia Bar is more restaurant-focused and less food-court-varied. Compared to the inland Rua Borges dos Reis bars (Boteco do França, BomBar), Blue Praia Bar is more polished and runs higher prices. Within Rio Vermelho, Blue Praia Bar fills the upscale-seafront niche similar to Nos Ares in Barra.
The cocktail program is notably more developed than the typical Rio Vermelho boteco. House signatures incorporate Brazilian tropical fruits (cupuaçu, graviola, jabuticaba, caju) into the standard cocktail formats. Caipirinha builds are careful and the cachaça selection includes premium artisanal options. The beer selection is moderate with both Brazilian and a few imported draft options.
