Cien Fuegos
Cien Fuegos is a late-night club on Rua Alexandre Gusmão with a dance floor, live-music nights, and Latin-leaning programming until early morning. The space runs a medium-sized ground-floor room with a dance floor at the center, a small stage at one end, a long bar along the side, and booth seating around the perimeter. The music programming alternates between live Latin acts, DJs running salsa-bachata-reggaeton crossover, and weeknight karaoke. Capacity sits around 250. Pricing is moderate: beer R$12-18, cocktails R$22-35, cover R$20-50 on busy nights. The crowd is heavy on Brazilian visitors, Salvador-local salsa dancers, and a small foreign contingent that's discovered the venue.

Wednesday karaoke nights are the quietest and easiest to get a booth. Friday and Saturday Latin programming requires booth reservations through Instagram for groups. The dance floor compresses fast after midnight; arrive earlier for cocktail-and-conversation pace.
Full Review
Cien Fuegos sits on Rua Alexandre Gusmão a few minutes inland from the Rio Vermelho seafront, occupying a medium-sized ground-floor space with the dance floor at the center, a small stage at one end, a long bar along one side, and booth seating around the perimeter. The interior runs darker than the typical Rio Vermelho boteco with stage lighting setups, mirrored accents on the walls, and a sound system tuned for dance music.
The music programming alternates by night. Friday and Saturday run Latin DJ sets with salsa, bachata, reggaeton, and Latin crossover keeping the dance floor active until 4 AM. Wednesday and Thursday programming includes karaoke nights (popular with younger Brazilian groups) and occasional live Latin band acts. The cover charges run R$20-50 on busy nights, smaller on weekdays.
Compared to the Rio Vermelho boteco circuit (Boteco do França, O Mais Amado), Cien Fuegos is a different format entirely: late-night dance club rather than sidewalk-conversation boteco. Compared to BomBar on Rua Borges dos Reis (the other Rio Vermelho live-music venue), Cien Fuegos is more Latin-focused and more dance-driven. Within Rio Vermelho, Cien Fuegos fills the late-night dance niche that the seafront and boteco venues don't serve.
The Latin-dance crowd is the venue's strongest demographic. Salsa and bachata couple-dance dynamics work on the dance floor with standard rotation conventions. The cover charges filter the crowd toward genuine dancers and music fans. The booth-seating reservation pattern works well for groups of four to six; walk-ins for dance-floor-only standing are easy on most nights. The bar service speeds slow during peak; ordering at the bar rather than waiting for table service is the practical strategy.
