Nos Ares Lounge Bar
Nos Ares Lounge Bar is a rooftop lounge on Avenida Sete de Setembro with panoramic views of Porto da Barra and the Bay of All Saints. The space splits between an indoor air-conditioned lounge and an open-air terrace, with the terrace running along the building's perimeter for the views. The cocktail program is the strongest in Barra: house signatures with Brazilian tropical fruits, premium spirit pours, and serious execution from a small bar team. The kitchen runs alongside with international-leaning small plates and shared boards designed to pair with the drinks. Pricing reflects the upscale positioning: cocktails R$35-55, beer R$18-25, small plates R$35-75. The crowd is heavy on Brazilian professionals, foreign visitors staying at the nearby hotels, and special-occasion visitors. Reservations help on Friday and Saturday.

Book a terrace table for sunset (around 5:30 PM) for the best views over Porto da Barra. The premium-spirit pours are notably stronger than the cocktails for whiskey drinkers; ask the bartender. Smart-casual dress; sandals are tolerated but feel out of place.
Full Review
Nos Ares Lounge Bar sits on a rooftop along Avenida Sete de Setembro one block inland from Avenida Oceânica, accessed via a dedicated elevator from the building's ground floor. The space opens onto an indoor air-conditioned lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor terrace wrapping the building's perimeter. The Bay of All Saints view sweeps west across Porto da Barra and toward the Atlantic horizon.
The cocktail program is the strongest in Barra and one of the strongest in Salvador. The bar team works house-infused cachaças (Brazilian tropical fruits, herbs, spices) into signature builds and runs serious execution on classic cocktails (Old Fashioned, Negroni, Daiquiri, Sazerac). Premium-spirit pours run a strong selection of imported whiskeys, gins, and aged cachaças. The pricing reflects the upscale positioning but compares favorably to São Paulo or Rio cocktail bars at similar quality tiers.
Compared to Tiki Bar on the beachfront strip, Nos Ares is more polished, view-focused, and runs a less dance-floor-oriented evening. Compared to Vila Caramuru in Rio Vermelho, Nos Ares is more cocktail-focused and less food-and-stage-driven. Within Barra, Nos Ares fills the upscale-rooftop niche that the other beachfront venues don't serve.
Reservations help significantly on Friday and Saturday for terrace tables. The kitchen runs alongside the bar with international small plates and shared boards (charcuterie, cheese, ceviche, grilled prawns) designed to pair with drinks. Service is attentive and the staff speaks functional English for the foreign-visitor portion of the clientele. The dress code is enforced visually at the elevator; beachwear is politely refused.
