Guapo Boteco
Guapo Boteco is a modern boteco a block back from the beach on Rua Marquês de Leão, with a sidewalk patio, craft caipirinhas, and a menu of Brazilian small plates. The space splits between an indoor bar room with a long counter and high-top tables and the covered outdoor patio that runs along the building's frontage. The cocktail program emphasizes craft builds: house-infused cachaças, fresh-squeezed juices, and seasonal fruit additions to the classic caipirinha format. Pricing is moderate by Barra standards: beer R$12-18, craft caipirinhas R$22-35, small plates R$28-55. The crowd is heavy on the post-beach late-afternoon visitors, Brazilian tourists, and a slightly more polished local contingent than the Avenida Oceânica botecos.

The craft caipirinhas with seasonal fruits (cupuaçu, graviola, caju) are the menu's strength. The sidewalk patio is the prime evening seating; the indoor bar runs cooler in the heat. Cards process faster than cash here.
Full Review
Guapo Boteco sits on Rua Marquês de Leão one block back from Avenida Oceânica, occupying a corner space with an indoor bar room and a covered outdoor patio. The interior runs warm: exposed brick walls, Edison bulb lighting, polished wood counters, and craft-bar accessories visible behind the bar. The outdoor patio extends along two sides of the building under a covered canopy.
The craft caipirinha program is the venue's anchor. The bar runs multiple house-infused cachaças (passionfruit, lemongrass, ginger, jabuticaba) and incorporates seasonal Brazilian tropical fruits into the standard caipirinha format. The cocktail builds are notably more careful than the standard Avenida Oceânica boteco caipirinhas; expect three to four minutes per drink rather than the 60-second pour-and-stir approach.
Compared to the Avenida Oceânica beachfront botecos, Guapo is more craft-focused, slightly more polished, and runs a younger and more dressed-up crowd. Compared to inland Barra restaurants on Rua Visconde de Itaparica, Guapo is more bar-focused and less dinner-oriented. The location one block inland from the beach keeps the prices slightly lower than the beachfront equivalents while keeping the walking-distance Avenida Oceânica access.
The Brazilian small-plates menu runs alongside the cocktails: dadinho de tapioca, bolinho de bacalhau, queijo coalho skewers, ceviche-style fish preparations. Execution is decent and the plates pair well with the craft caipirinhas. Service is friendly and reasonably attentive; cards process faster than cash for tab settlement.
