Astral Cocktail Bar
Astral Cocktail Bar offers a rooftop perspective on Puerto Banus from above the marina fray. The elevated position provides views over the yacht-filled harbor and the mountains behind Marbella. The cocktail menu is more considered than most Puerto Banus bars, with a mixologist who uses fresh ingredients, house syrups, and proper technique. Cocktails run EUR 14-18, wine EUR 8-12, and beer EUR 6-8. The atmosphere is lounge-oriented: comfortable seating, ambient music, and a pace that encourages staying for multiple rounds rather than quickly moving on. The crowd tends toward couples and small groups in their thirties and forties who prefer conversation to club-level volume. The bar is at its best during the golden hour before sunset, when the light on the water and the mountains creates a backdrop that justifies the drink prices. After midnight, the energy shifts slightly as the club-bound crowd passes through for a final drink before heading to Pangea or La Suite. Astral functions as either a destination in itself or the perfect warm-up to the rest of the marina's nightlife.

Full Review
Astral's rooftop position changes the Puerto Banus experience completely. From above, the marina's superyachts look like models, the mountains behind Marbella glow in the evening light, and the noise of the street-level bars fades to a manageable hum. The terrace is arranged with lounge seating that faces the water, and every spot has a decent view.
The cocktails justify the premium pricing. A gin-based creation with cucumber and elderflower was balanced and refreshing. An old fashioned was made with proper technique: muddled sugar, good bourbon, and a thick orange peel. These are not the hastily mixed drinks of the marina bars below. The bartender took visible pride in each preparation.
I visited at sunset on a Thursday and the terrace was half full with couples and small groups speaking several languages. The music was deep house at a volume that accompanied rather than dominated. Nobody was dancing; everyone was talking, drinking, and watching the sky change color. The atmosphere was sophisticated without being exclusive.
Astral works best as a first drink of the evening or a destination for people who don't want the club experience. By midnight, the crowd starts to thin as people move on to the clubs below. Staying through closing at 2 AM means a quieter, more intimate final hour that some visitors prefer.
The Neighborhood
Astral sits above the Muelle de Ribera in Puerto Banus, offering a literal elevated perspective on the marina below. The clubs and street-level bars are directly beneath, making it easy to transition from rooftop calm to dance floor energy.
Getting There
On the Muelle de Ribera in Puerto Banus. Look for the entrance to the upper level; it's signed from the marina walkway. Same access as other marina venues: taxi from Marbella or walk from Puerto Banus parking.
Address
Muelle de Ribera, 29660 Puerto Banús
Other Venues in Puerto Banús

Pangea
Currently the hottest club in Puerto Banus, playing a mix of commercial house, hip-hop, and Latin music. The interior is lavish, the crowd is dressed up, and bottle service is the main revenue model. Gets busy from 1 AM.

La Suite
Long-established Puerto Banus nightclub that has survived multiple eras and reinventions. Currently running a club format with resident and guest DJs. The crowd is mixed international. Entry EUR 20-30.

Linekers Bar
Named after the English footballer, this sports-bar-turned-party-venue draws a predominantly British crowd with loud music, cheap-ish drinks by local standards, and a party atmosphere. Less pretentious than the clubs.

Sinatra Bar
Sophisticated cocktail lounge styled after a classic American bar. Live music on some nights, well-made drinks, and a crowd that prefers conversation to thumping basslines. A good alternative to the club scene.
