Nomad Skybar
Nomad Skybar sits on top of a building on Strada Lipscani and offers something Old Town's street-level venues can't: a view. The rooftop terrace looks out across a jumble of red-tiled roofs, church spires, and the distant silhouette of the Palace of the Parliament. It operates primarily as a cocktail bar rather than a club, which makes it a better fit for early evening drinks and sunset hours than for a 2 AM dance session. The drink menu runs long on cocktails (30-50 RON) and has a decent wine list featuring Romanian labels. Light food is available. The crowd is a mix of tourists who found it on Google Maps and young Romanians who appreciate a terrace with a view.
What to Expect
A relaxed rooftop atmosphere with good views and competent cocktails. Music is background-level. This is a talking venue, not a dancing one. Ideal for the first stop of the evening before moving to louder places.
Chill, scenic, and slightly romantic. The city view does most of the work.
Background lounge music, deep house at low volume
Smart casual. You're on a rooftop terrace in the heart of Old Town, not a dive bar.
Couples and small groups looking for sunset drinks with a view before heading into Old Town's nightlife.
Cards and cash (RON) accepted
Price Range
Cocktails 30-50 RON, wine 25-40 RON per glass, light bites 20-45 RON

Insider Tip
Arrive by 6 PM for sunset. The best tables fill fast on summer evenings. The cocktails are better than the food, so eat elsewhere and come here for drinks.
Full Review
Nomad occupies the top floor and rooftop of a building on Strada Lipscani, accessible via a staircase from street level. The terrace is the main draw: an open-air space with seating for about 60 people, string lights, plants, and an unobstructed view across Old Town's roofscape. The indoor area has additional seating and a full bar, useful when weather pushes everyone inside.
The cocktail menu covers classics and house originals with reasonable skill. Mojitos, spritzes, and negronis are reliable. The house specials use Romanian ingredients (tuica-based cocktails, local fruit infusions) with mixed results. The wine list focuses on Romanian producers and offers good value, with Feteasca Neagra and Cramele Recas labels available by the glass. Light food (bruschetta, cheese plates, salads) fills the gap but isn't the reason to visit.
Service is friendly and competent during normal hours, slower on packed summer evenings when the terrace fills beyond comfortable capacity. Reservations aren't formally offered for most nights, but arriving early guarantees a good spot.
Nomad works best as a first-stop venue. The vibe peaks during sunset and the golden hour that follows. By 11 PM on weekends, people start drifting down to street-level clubs, and the terrace quiets. It's not the place for a late night, but it's one of the better ways to start one.
The rooftop location means it can be hard to find from street level. Look for the sign on Strada Lipscani and follow the staircase up. The building entrance is easy to miss if you're not looking.
The Neighborhood
Nomad is on Strada Lipscani, Old Town's main commercial street. The building is surrounded by bars, restaurants, and shops at street level. Pura Vida Sky Bar is a few buildings away for those who want to terrace-hop.
Getting There
A 4-minute walk from Piata Universitatii metro (M2), heading south into the pedestrian zone on Strada Lipscani. Look for the building entrance and follow signs upstairs.
