Success Bar
Success Bar sits atop a building overlooking Freedom Square, offering rooftop views across Tbilisi's Old Town, Narikala Fortress, and the Mtkvari River. The cocktail list highlights Georgian ingredients alongside international standards, and the wine selection features small-batch Georgian natural wines. Cocktails cost GEL 22-40 ($8.15-14.80), wine GEL 12-25 ($4.45-9.25) per glass. The rooftop terrace is the main draw, particularly from May through October when the weather cooperates. Inside seating is available year-round. The crowd is a mix of tourists drawn by the view and Tbilisi professionals on nights out. Dress code is smart casual. No cover charge. The kitchen serves a short menu of Georgian and Mediterranean dishes until midnight.
What to Expect
A polished rooftop bar with genuinely impressive views. The atmosphere is relaxed but put-together. Couples and small groups dominate the crowd. The service is professional, and the bartenders know their menu well. It's not a party venue; it's a place for good drinks with a view.
Polished, scenic, and calm. A good place to slow down before or after the louder venues.
Background lounge music, occasionally live acoustic sets on the terrace
Smart casual. Collared shirts and clean shoes are the norm. You won't be turned away in jeans, but shorts and sandals feel out of place.
Sunset drinks, date nights, and visitors who want a scenic introduction to Tbilisi's cocktail scene.
Cards and cash accepted. Card payment is standard here.

Insider Tip
Go for sunset. The view over the Old Town and Narikala Fortress in fading light is one of Tbilisi's best experiences. Book a terrace table on weekends; walk-ins risk waiting. The Georgian wine flight is worth ordering if you're unfamiliar with local varietals.
Full Review
Success Bar occupies a rooftop position that gives it one of Tbilisi's best vantage points. Freedom Square sits below, with Rustaveli Avenue stretching northwest and the Old Town climbing the hillside to the south. Narikala Fortress glows amber at night. The Mtkvari River curves through the middle distance. On a clear evening, the view alone justifies the visit.
The terrace holds roughly 30-40 people at tables, which means it fills quickly on warm weekend evenings. Inside, the bar area has additional seating with windows facing the square. The interior design is clean and modern without being sterile: warm wood, soft lighting, and enough plants to soften the edges.
The cocktail menu runs about 20 options, split between Georgian-influenced originals and well-executed classics. A Saperavi (red grape) negroni and a tarragon-infused gin fizz stand out as house signatures. The bartenders rotate seasonal specials that reflect what's available from local producers. Wine service is knowledgeable; staff can walk you through the difference between qvevri-aged and conventional Georgian wines.
Food is an afterthought by comparison but not bad. The small plates pair well with drinks, and the khachapuri is competent. Don't come for dinner; come for drinks with a snack.
The crowd is noticeably more polished than at most Tbilisi bars. This is where people come when they want to feel like they're at a nice bar rather than a dive. It works for what it is, though regulars of Tbilisi's underground scene might find it too reserved. Pricing puts it in the upper tier for Tbilisi, but the cocktails would cost 2-3x this in any Western European capital.
The Neighborhood
Directly overlooking Freedom Square at the southeastern end of Rustaveli Avenue. The National Gallery, City Hall, and several banks surround the square. The Old Town is a 5-minute walk south. Multiple restaurants and bars operate in the immediate area.
Getting There
Freedom Square metro station is directly below. Walk out of the station and you're there. From Rustaveli Avenue, walk southeast to the square. Bolt from anywhere in Tbilisi costs GEL 3-8. The bar entrance is inside the building; look for signage pointing to the elevator.
