Sector 26
Sector 26 is one of Batumi's few year-round bars, located near the Old Town end of the Boulevard on Gorgiladze Street. The two-room space has indoor seating for winter and an outdoor terrace for warm months. The bar specializes in craft beer (Georgian and imported) and Georgian wine, with a small spirits selection. Beer costs GEL 5-10 ($1.85-3.70), wine GEL 6-12 ($2.20-4.45) per glass. The crowd is a mix of Batumi locals who drink here year-round and tourists who discover it in summer. The atmosphere is that of a genuine neighborhood bar: unpretentious, conversational, and run by people who know their regulars. No cover charge, no dress code, no reservations needed.
What to Expect
A laid-back neighborhood bar where locals and tourists coexist comfortably. The atmosphere is quiet early in the evening and gets progressively more social. Nobody is here to rage; people come for good beer, decent wine, and conversation. It's one of the few venues in Batumi that feels authentic rather than tourist-oriented.
Authentic, unhurried, and neighborly. The antidote to Batumi's tourist-strip bars.
Background indie, rock, and jazz. Occasionally live acoustic sets in summer.
Whatever you're wearing is fine. This is Batumi's most casual drinking establishment.
Travelers who want to drink like a local rather than a tourist. Solo visitors looking for conversation.

Insider Tip
Ask what's on the rotating taps. The owner sources from Georgian microbreweries and sometimes has exclusives. The terrace on warm evenings is the best casual drinking spot near the Old Town. Don't rush; the pace here matches the neighborhood.
Full Review
Sector 26 sits on a quiet street near where the Boulevard meets the Old Town, far enough from the main tourist strip to filter out the transient crowd. The interior is small: a bar, some tables, and walls decorated with a mix of local art and personal memorabilia. An outdoor terrace doubles the capacity in warm weather.
The beer selection is the draw for many. The owner maintains relationships with Georgian craft breweries and keeps a rotating tap list that changes weekly. On a typical visit, you'll find 6-8 options, split between local and imported. Georgian craft IPA alongside a Belgian dubbel alongside a local wheat beer. The bartender knows every beer on tap and will talk you through them.
Wine is Georgian, sourced from producers the owner knows personally. The selection is small but thoughtful. If you've been drinking commercial Saperavi at tourist restaurants and wondering what the fuss about Georgian wine is, Sector 26 will show you.
The crowd varies by season. In summer, tourists discover it and add international variety to the regular local contingent. In winter, it's predominantly Batumi residents who've made the bar their living room extension. Either way, the social dynamic is open and conversational. Solo visitors are absorbed into conversations naturally.
The pace is slow. Service is friendly but unhurried. The owner is often behind the bar and treats customers as guests in his home. This is not a place to go if you're in a rush or want aggressive nightlife. It's a place to settle in, drink well, and talk.
Value is exceptional. An evening of three or four good beers and a glass of wine comes in under GEL 40 ($14.80). Finding comparable quality at comparable prices in a European bar requires effort.
