Iveria Beach
Iveria Beach is a beach bar on Batumi's waterfront, operating from May through October. The setup includes sunbeds on the pebble beach, a covered bar area, and a food service kitchen grilling fish and Georgian staples. DJs start sets in the afternoon and continue through sunset into the evening. The atmosphere is relaxed and social rather than party-focused. Beer costs GEL 5-8 ($1.85-3), cocktails GEL 10-20 ($3.70-7.40), and sunbed rental runs GEL 5-10 ($1.85-3.70) per day. Grilled fish plates cost GEL 12-25 ($4.45-9.25). The crowd is a mix of families during the day and couples and groups in the evening. It's the kind of place where you arrive for a beer at 3 PM and realize it's 10 PM.
What to Expect
A laid-back beach bar where the day unfolds at its own pace. Morning is quiet, afternoon brings swimmers and sunbathers, sunset adds music and energy, and evening settles into relaxed drinking and conversation. It's not a party venue; it's a place to pass time comfortably by the water.
Breezy, unhurried, and genuinely relaxing. The sound of waves adds what speakers can't.
Chill house, downtempo, and ambient during the day. Slightly more upbeat in the evening.
Beach attire during the day. Casual summer clothes in the evening. No standards enforced.
Day-to-evening beach drinking. Couples and groups who want to relax rather than party.

Insider Tip
The grilled Black Sea trout is the best thing on the menu. Afternoon is the best time for a sunbed and calm swimming. Bring water shoes; the pebble beach is rough on bare feet. Sunset is prime time for photos and atmosphere.
Full Review
Iveria Beach claims a stretch of Batumi's pebble waterfront about 2 kilometers south of the Old Town along the Boulevard. The setup is straightforward: rows of sunbeds with umbrellas face the Black Sea, a wooden-decked bar area sits behind them, and a kitchen operates to one side.
The beach itself is pebble, not sand. This is standard for the Georgian Black Sea coast and takes some getting used to. Water shoes make the transition from sunbed to sea dramatically more comfortable. The water is clean and warm from mid-June through September, with gentle waves on most days.
The bar serves simple drinks competently. Mojitos, beer, wine by the glass, and fresh juice cover the menu. Nothing fancy, nothing disappointing. The food menu centers on grilled fish, which benefits from being sourced locally. The Black Sea trout and barabulka (red mullet) are fresh and well-prepared. Georgian sides (badrijani, pkhali, salads) round out the plates.
DJ sets provide a soundtrack rather than a reason to dance. Afternoon music is properly ambient: downtempo, chill house, and the occasional bossa nova track. As evening approaches, the beats pick up slightly but never cross into club territory. This is by design. Iveria Beach is a place for conversation and relaxation.
The crowd reflects the time of day. Families with children dominate until 4-5 PM. The early evening transition brings couples watching the sunset over drinks. By 8-9 PM, it's primarily adult groups and pairs staying for dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is consistently pleasant across all these phases.
Value is strong. A full afternoon and evening of sunbed, swimming, food, and drinks can be accomplished for GEL 50-80 ($18.50-30). Finding that combination at a European beach bar for twice the price would be considered a good deal.
