Lolita
Lolita is a small wine bar on Aghmashenebeli Avenue that takes Georgian natural wine seriously without taking itself too seriously. The selection rotates weekly, sourced directly from small producers across Kakheti, Kartli, and Imereti. Staff know the provenance of every bottle and will guide you through the differences between qvevri-aged Rkatsiteli and the same grape made in a European style. The space is intimate: maybe 25 seats across a bar and a handful of tables. Wine by the glass costs GEL 8-18 ($3-6.65), and full bottles start at GEL 25 ($9.25). A small food menu of Georgian cheese, cured meats, and bread pairs well. No cocktails, no beer, no apologies. This is a wine bar with conviction.
What to Expect
A quiet, focused wine bar where the conversation revolves around what's in your glass. Staff are passionate and knowledgeable without being snobbish. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Don't expect loud music or late-night energy; this is for early-to-mid evening wine exploration.
Intimate, warm, and centered on wine. Like drinking in a friend's living room, if your friend happened to be a sommelier.
Quiet background music. Jazz, classical, or Georgian folk played at conversation-friendly volume.
Casual. Wine bars in Tbilisi don't enforce dress codes.

Insider Tip
Ask for a flight if you're new to Georgian wines. Staff will build one based on your taste. The qvevri-aged amber wines are Georgia's unique contribution to the wine world; try at least one. Pair with Sulguni cheese.
Full Review
Lolita occupies a small ground-floor space on Aghmashenebeli with a simple storefront that's easy to walk past. Inside, exposed brick walls, a wooden bar, and warm lighting create a space that feels more like a private wine cellar than a commercial venue.
The wine list is the entire point. Written on a chalkboard that changes weekly, it features 15-25 wines by the glass, all from small Georgian producers. The selection covers the full range of Georgian winemaking: qvevri-aged amber wines, conventional whites and reds, pet-nat (natural sparkling), and the occasional oddity like a Saperavi rose or an experimental blend. Staff explain each wine with genuine enthusiasm and will adjust recommendations based on your reactions.
Georgian natural wine can be challenging for palates trained on French or New World styles. The qvevri-aged whites (technically amber wines due to extended skin contact) have a tannic, oxidative character that's unlike anything from Western Europe. Lolita's staff handle the education gracefully, starting newcomers with approachable styles and progressing to the more unusual bottles.
The food offering is minimal but well-matched. Georgian cheese (Sulguni, Imeruli), cured meats, fresh bread, and seasonal additions. It's enough to sustain an evening of wine tasting without being a full dinner.
The crowd is small by definition (the space barely fits 25) and tends toward wine-interested locals and tourists who've done their research. Conversations between tables happen naturally. It's one of those places where solo visitors feel welcome rather than awkward.
The only limitation is hours. Lolita closes by midnight on most nights, making it an early-evening destination rather than a late-night one.
