Soho Beach Club

4.1
(890 reviews)
Boulevard, Batumi

Soho Beach Club is Batumi's main seasonal beach club, operating from June through September on the Boulevard waterfront near the Alphabet Tower. The setup includes an open-air dance floor, a pool area with sunbeds, a bar running until late, and DJ sets from late afternoon. The transition from daytime beach relaxation to nighttime party happens naturally as the sun drops. Cocktails cost GEL 15-25 ($5.55-9.25), beer GEL 6-10 ($2.20-3.70). Cover charges are rare except for special events (GEL 10-20). The crowd is an international mix reflecting Batumi's tourist demographics: Turkish weekenders, Russian holidaymakers, Georgian vacationers, and European backpackers sharing the same dance floor. Production quality is modest by Ibiza standards but appropriate for the setting and prices.

What to Expect

A casual beach party atmosphere that builds through the day. Afternoon is relaxed with background music and swimming. Sunset brings energy and louder DJ sets. By 10 PM on summer weekends, the dance floor is active and stays that way until 2-3 AM. It's not sophisticated, but it's fun.

Full Review

Soho Beach Club sets up on a section of Batumi's pebble beach each summer, with a temporary structure that includes a covered bar area, an open-air dance floor, a small pool, and rows of sunbeds extending toward the water. The setup is rebuilt each year, so the exact layout shifts, but the concept stays consistent.

The daytime experience is a standard beach club: sunbeds, music at conversation volume, cocktails, and access to the Black Sea for swimming. The pebble beach is less comfortable than sand (bring water shoes), but the water is clean and warm from July through early September.

As the sun sets, the energy shifts. DJ sets get louder and more dance-oriented. The crowd that spent the afternoon sunbathing starts dancing. The bar queue grows. By 10 PM on a summer Saturday, the venue holds several hundred people across the various zones, and the dance floor carries real energy.

The musical programming reflects Batumi's multinational tourist base. Sets swing between international house tracks, Turkish pop remixes, Russian dance music, and commercial EDM. Don't expect Berlin-quality curation; this is a resort town party, and it functions well on those terms.

Drink prices are reasonable. Cocktails are basic (rum and coke, mojitos, margaritas) but adequate for the setting. Beer from the tap is cold. The food menu runs to the standard beach-club repertoire: grilled items, salads, and snacks.

Security is present but relaxed. Petty theft from sunbeds and beach areas is the main concern; use the lockers. The crowd is generally well-behaved, with occasional friction between drunk tourist groups late at night. Staff handle situations calmly.

The season is short but intense. July and August weekends represent the peak experience. June and September are quieter, with fewer vendors and smaller crowds.
