Havana Club
Havana Club occupies a corner unit in the Lac 1 commercial zone, its Latin-themed decor visible from the street through large front windows. The interior is decorated with Cuban travel posters, dark wood paneling, warm lighting, and a small bar with a rum-focused back shelf. A compact dance floor sits toward the rear, separated from the dining and drinking area by a low partition. Total capacity is about 80. The kitchen produces tapas-style plates and Latin-American-inspired dishes. The bar specializes in rum cocktails, mojitos, and Cuba libres, though the full spirits range is available. Salsa and Latin music nights on weekends draw a mixed crowd of Tunisians, Latin American diplomats and their circles, and expats who've discovered that this small venue runs one of the more distinctive programs in the Lac District. A DJ handles the music on these nights, mixing salsa, bachata, and reggaeton. Midweek evenings are quieter, serving as a casual after-work spot for Lac 1 office workers who want something more characterful than a hotel lobby.
What to Expect
You walk into a warm, dimly lit space with Cuban posters on the walls and Latin music playing. The front area has tables for dining and drinking. The back area opens onto a small dance floor. On salsa nights the energy builds from dinner-level to dance-level over the course of the evening.
Warm and inviting, with a Latin flavor that stands out against the Lac District's corporate backdrop. Dance nights are energetic; quiet nights are cozy.
Salsa, bachata, reggaeton, and Latin pop on weekend nights. Midweek is background Latin and jazz.
Casual to smart casual. The atmosphere is relaxed and nobody checks what you're wearing. Comfortable shoes if you plan to dance.

Full Review
Havana Club is the Lac District venue that actually has a personality. While the hotel bars and lounges around it default to international corporate neutrality, Havana Club commits to its Cuban theme with enough sincerity that it works. The rum collection behind the bar is real. The mojitos are made with fresh mint. The music is selected by someone who knows Latin genres rather than just hitting shuffle on a playlist.
The salsa nights are the highlight. A regular crowd of dancers, some of them genuinely skilled, fills the small dance floor on Friday evenings. The DJ builds the set from slower salsa and bachata into uptempo tracks as the night progresses. If you can dance, you'll find partners. If you can't, the floor is small enough that watching is entertainment in itself.
The food is decent without being exceptional. The tapas plates work well as shared drinking food: patatas bravas, empanadas, ceviche, and grilled plantain. The main courses are competent but not the reason to come. The mojitos and rum cocktails are the bar program's strength, and they're priced low enough that multiple rounds don't strain a budget.
The space is small, which works in the venue's favor. At 80 capacity, a good night feels packed and energetic rather than empty and searching. The downside is that on popular nights, especially salsa Fridays, the room gets hot and crowded. The front tables near the windows are the most comfortable seats.
Compared to the Lac District's other options, Havana Club fills the gap between the corporate neutrality of hotel lounges and the high-energy commitment of Mist Club. It's the mid-evening venue: the place between dinner and either going home or going to the club.
