Shelby Bar
Shelby Bar takes its name and aesthetic from the 1920s English Peaky Blinders era, running a dark-wood interior with whiskey focus, classic-cocktail menu, and a settled expat-and-Thai-professional crowd on Nimmanhaemin Soi 7. The space splits between an indoor bar room with a long counter, a covered outdoor seating area facing the soi, and a small back patio for quieter conversation. Live music runs Wednesday through Saturday with acoustic acts (guitar duos, light jazz, occasional country). Pricing sits at the upper end of Nimman: cocktails 280-380 THB, whiskey pours 220-380 THB depending on the bottle, beer 150-200 THB. The crowd skews 30s and 40s, dressed up, and conversational.

Insider Tip
Sit in the outdoor seating for the Soi 7 street view; the indoor bar runs cooler and quieter. Order from the bartender's recommendation rather than the menu for the whiskey selection. Wednesday and Thursday live music nights are the most intimate.
Full Review
Shelby Bar sits in a two-level building on Nimmanhaemin Soi 7 with a hand-painted Peaky Blinders-themed sign and an outdoor seating area covered by a low roof. The interior runs dark wood, vintage brass, and 1920s-era posters, with a long bar along one wall and high-top tables along the other. The back patio adds quieter seating for parties of four to six.
The whiskey program is the bar's strength. Bottle selection runs Scottish single malts, Japanese, Irish, and a strong American bourbon and rye list. Pours sit at 25 ml standard with 50 ml available at most labels. The bartenders know the bottles well and their recommendations across price tiers are reliable. The cocktail menu leans classic: Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Boulevardier, Sazerac, with house twists using Thai ingredients.
Compared to Caravan on Soi 9, Shelby is more whiskey-driven and less cocktail-curated, but with comparable execution and a similar price tier. Compared to Continental on Soi 5, Shelby is more open and less themed, with a wider casual-walk-in audience. The Soi 7 cluster sits as one of the strongest cocktail-bar Sois in Nimman, with Shelby anchoring the middle.
Live music runs Wednesday through Saturday with acoustic acts (a guitar duo, occasional jazz trio, country singer-songwriter). The volume stays conversational; the music backgrounds the room rather than dominating. Tipping the band 50-100 THB is standard for a requested song.
