Triangle
Triangle is where Taipei's underground electronic music community gathers. The club favors house, techno, and deep electronic over the commercial EDM that dominates Xinyi's bigger venues. The room is deliberately small, holding about 250 people, which creates the kind of intimate, sweat-on-the-walls energy that serious club music demands. The sound system was built for this room specifically, tuned for low-end depth without sacrificing clarity in the mid-range. Resident DJs have deep record collections and the freedom to play sets that wouldn't survive at a mainstream venue. International bookings lean toward the underground circuit: Berghain residents, Panorama Bar regulars, and Asian techno artists who don't play the festival circuit.
What to Expect
A dark room with a serious sound system and a crowd that came for the music. People dance here. The phone stays in the pocket. Eye contact happens on the dance floor, not through a screen. If you want conversation, step outside to the smoking area.
Dark, bass-heavy, and focused entirely on the music. Think small Berlin club transplanted to Taipei.
House, techno, deep house, minimal, and occasional drum and bass or ambient sets
Wear what you want. Dark colors are the unofficial uniform, but nobody is judging your outfit. Comfort matters more than fashion here.
Electronic music fans who know what they like and want a proper underground club experience in Taipei.
Cash (TWD) strongly preferred. Cards accepted reluctantly.

Insider Tip
Check their Facebook page for lineup announcements. International DJ nights sell advance tickets that are cheaper than door prices. The dance floor gets hot; dress in layers you can remove.
Full Review
Triangle doesn't try to compete with Myst on scale or Omni on style. It competes on sound and curation, and it wins. The room is intentionally small, with low ceilings that trap the bass and create an immersive sonic environment. The DJ booth is nearly at floor level, putting the performer in the middle of the crowd rather than elevated above it.
The sound system deserves specific mention. Whoever built it understood that techno needs physical presence, not just volume. You feel the kick drum in your ribs at a comfortable listening level. The high-end is crisp without being piercing, which means you can dance for hours without ear fatigue. Bring earplugs anyway; sustained exposure at any club level causes damage.
The crowd self-selects. Triangle's programming doesn't attract casual clubbers looking for Top 40 remixes. The people here know the DJs, recognize the tracks, and came specifically to dance. Conversation on the dance floor is minimal and not missed. The smoking area outside serves as the social hub between sets.
International DJ nights are the highlight events, but the resident nights are consistently strong. The booking policy favors artists who can play extended sets, three to four hours minimum, which allows for the kind of musical journey that short festival sets can't achieve.
Drink options are basic: beer, spirits, and simple cocktails. Nobody comes here for mixology. The bar is efficient and the staff understand that getting people back to the dance floor quickly is the priority.
The Neighborhood
Triangle operates in the Xinyi area but positions itself apart from the mainstream club strip. The immediate surroundings have convenience stores for water and snacks. The early-morning crowd spills out into Xinyi's quiet streets at dawn, heading for breakfast at nearby 24-hour restaurants.
Getting There
MRT Blue Line to Taipei City Hall Station. A short walk into the Xinyi area. The venue isn't prominently marked; look for the line of people in dark clothing and follow the bass.
