Room 18
Room 18 occupies a basement space in the ATT 4 Fun building that has hosted some of Taipei's most memorable club nights over its long run. The underground setting works in its favor: low ceilings, contained acoustics, and a sense of being in a space designed purely for dancing. The club splits into a main dance area and a side lounge where the volume drops enough for conversation. Programming varies between electronic music nights, hip-hop events, and mixed-format parties that try to cover all bases. The crowd varies accordingly, from dedicated dancers on techno nights to a more social, drinks-focused audience on hip-hop evenings.
What to Expect
A basement club with genuine character and a rotating personality. The physical space stays the same but the crowd and energy shift dramatically between electronic nights and hip-hop nights. The ceiling is low, the room gets hot, and the bass is inescapable. That's the point.
Underground in every sense. Intimate, sweaty, and energetic when the right DJ is playing.
Varies by night: electronic, hip-hop, R&B, Latin, and mixed-format parties
Smart casual. The underground setting means you'll sweat, so dress accordingly while still meeting the minimum standard.
Versatile clubbers who appreciate different music styles on different nights. Also good for those staying at ATT 4 Fun venues who want to explore without leaving the building.

Full Review
Room 18 has survived multiple cycles of Taipei club trends by being adaptable. The basement space in ATT 4 Fun has low ceilings and a compact layout that creates genuine intensity when the room is full. The DJ booth anchors the main dance area, with the bar running along one wall and the lounge area separated by a partial partition.
The main room gets loud. Bass bounces off concrete walls and the low ceiling compresses the sound into something physical. This works brilliantly for electronic music and less well for hip-hop nights when vocal clarity matters more. The side lounge is a necessary escape valve, dropping the volume to a level where conversation is possible.
Thursday nights tend to be experimental, with local DJs testing new material or playing sets outside their comfort zone. Friday and Saturday follow more established formats. The crowd adjusts to the programming: techno nights bring the black-clad dance floor devotees, hip-hop nights draw a more diverse, social audience.
Pricing is moderate by Xinyi standards. The cover is lower than Myst or Omni, and drink prices sit in the middle range. Bottle service is available but not pushed as aggressively as at the upscale venues upstairs.
The venue shows its age in places. The bathrooms are adequate but small. Ventilation works hard against the heat generated by hundreds of bodies in a basement. In summer, the temperature on the dance floor can be punishing. Drink water.
The Neighborhood
Room 18 is in the basement of ATT 4 Fun, with Omni and other venues in the same building. The Xinyi shopping district provides dinner options before the clubs open, and 24-hour convenience stores handle the hydration needs of the after-hours crowd.
Getting There
MRT Blue Line to Taipei City Hall Station, Exit 3. Enter ATT 4 Fun and follow signs downstairs. The building has elevator access if you're moving between Room 18 and the upper-floor venues.
