The terrace is the standout feature, providing an elevated view of Itaewon's main strip that's perfect for watching the neighborhood wake up on a Friday evening.
The cocktail program is strong for a neighborhood bar. The bartenders know their classics and the house specials change seasonally. Nothing is molecular or conceptual; everything is designed to taste good and be made quickly enough to serve a crowded bar. Prices are fair for Seoul: two rounds of cocktails for two people runs about 50,000 to 65,000 KRW, which is a reasonable pre-game budget.
The food menu sets The Bungalow apart from pure drinking bars. The kitchen produces bar food that's a cut above the usual: Korean-fusion tacos, proper sliders, sharing plates designed for groups. Having food available changes the dynamics of an evening, turning a quick drink into a longer stay.
The crowd is what makes the place work. On any given evening, you'll see Korean couples on dates, groups of expat friends, solo travelers reading at the bar, and mixed Korean-international groups who clearly met here and made it a regular spot. Its limitation is capacity. The terrace holds maybe 40 people, the interior another 60. On warm Friday evenings, it fills by 8 PM and the wait for a table can stretch past an hour. Planning accordingly or arriving early is the only solution.
