Form Space
Form Space is Cluj-Napoca's crown jewel and one of Romania's best electronic music venues outside Bucharest. The converted industrial space on Strada Viilor houses a sound system that's been engineered for the room, booking international techno and house acts alongside Romania's deep local talent pool. The space holds around 500 people and fills on headline nights with a crowd that knows its music. The no-frills industrial interior keeps the focus where it belongs: on the DJ and the dance floor. When the Untold Festival brings 350,000 people to Cluj every summer, Form Space runs the official afterparties that the committed music fans prioritize over everything else. Year-round, it operates as the city's serious club, the venue you come to when the music matters more than the drinks or the decor.
What to Expect
A serious electronic music venue with proper sound engineering. The crowd is music-literate and engaged. Expect dark lighting, minimal decoration, and DJs who play extended sets to an audience that stays for the full ride.
Industrial, focused, and immersive. The sound and the crowd create the experience.
Techno, house, tech-house, minimal, progressive house, live electronic acts
Dark and comfortable. No requirements beyond basic decency. Dress for dancing.
Electronic music fans visiting Cluj who want the city's best sound in a dedicated music venue.

Insider Tip
Buy tickets online for headline events. The 500-person capacity means good nights sell out. The sound is best in the center of the room, away from the walls. Earplugs improve the experience during extended peak-volume sets.
Full Review
Form Space occupies a converted industrial building on Strada Viilor, a short walk from Cluj's old town center. The conversion retained the building's essential character: high ceilings, raw surfaces, industrial proportions. The sound system was installed with acoustic treatment specific to the room, which gives it an advantage over venues that drop generic systems into untreated spaces.
The main room holds about 500 people with a single dance floor facing the DJ booth. The bar sits along one side, accessible without crossing the dance floor. A smoking area provides a break space and social zone. The layout is simple and effective, channeling everyone toward the music.
Booking quality has grown steadily. Form Space now pulls international names from the European techno and house circuits alongside Romanian artists like Raresh, SIT, and Cap. The venue's Untold afterparty bookings are among the most anticipated sets of the festival week, drawing audiences who want a club experience after the festival stages close.
During the regular season (September to June), weekend programming fills the space reliably. Friday and Saturday headline events sell out when the booking is strong. Quieter weekends with local residents still draw 200-300 people, which keeps the energy decent in a room this size.
Drinks are cheap by any standard. Beer at 12-20 RON and cocktails at 25-40 RON make it affordable to stay all night. The bar is efficient. Service doesn't suffer during peak hours the way it does at larger venues.
For electronic music, Form Space is the best venue in Cluj and one of the three or four best in Romania. The combination of sound quality, room dimensions, booking caliber, and crowd knowledge creates nights that compete with much larger and more expensive European venues. At Cluj prices.
The venue is a 10-minute walk from Piata Unirii. At 3 AM on a January night, that walk feels longer. Book a Bolt for the return trip if the cold doesn't appeal.
The Neighborhood
Form Space is on Strada Viilor, southeast of the old town center. The immediate area is residential and quiet. The walk to Piata Unirii and the old town bar strip takes about 10 minutes along lit streets.
Getting There
A 10-minute walk from Piata Unirii in the old town center, heading south on Strada Viilor. Bolt or Uber from anywhere in Cluj costs 8-15 RON. No dedicated parking; street parking is available.
