Fabrica
Fabrica is a converted factory near the university campus that has become one of Bucharest's most respected independent venues. The industrial bones are intact: raw concrete, exposed metal beams, high ceilings, and minimal decoration beyond what the walls provide naturally. Two areas handle different programming. The main space hosts live bands, electronic events, and the occasional cultural happening. A secondary area runs DJ sets or smaller acoustic shows. The sound system is properly installed for the space, delivering clean audio whether it's a Romanian indie band or a techno resident. The crowd is split between university students and Bucharest's broader music community, which gives Fabrica an energy that's younger and cheaper than Old Town's equivalent venues but equally committed to the music.

Full Review
Fabrica occupies a former factory building on Strada 11 Iunie, within walking distance of the Politehnica University campus. The conversion is minimal in the best way: the industrial structure provides character, acoustics, and a sense of scale that purpose-built clubs can't replicate. High ceilings absorb sound without creating echo. The concrete walls dampen reflections. The result is a room where a well-balanced sound system can fill a large space cleanly.
The main area holds around 400 people standing. A raised stage at one end hosts live acts, with the DJ booth positioned for electronic nights. The bar runs along the side wall and serves simple drinks efficiently. The secondary space is smaller and more intimate, used for quieter programming or overflow on busy nights.
Programming is Fabrica's strongest asset. The booking team curates rather than chases trends, mixing Romanian indie bands with international touring acts, electronic nights with experimental showcases, and the occasional spoken-word or cultural event. Quality varies (as with any venue booking emerging acts) but the floor is high enough that a random night usually delivers something worth hearing.
Prices reflect the student area. Beer at 10-15 RON and cocktails at 20-35 RON make it possible to have a full night for under 80 RON including entry. The crowd responds to these prices by showing up consistently, which creates reliable energy even on weeknights.
Fabrica competes with Control Club for Bucharest's best independent music venue. Control has the location advantage (central, walkable from Old Town). Fabrica has the space advantage (larger, better acoustics, higher ceiling). Both are worth visiting. For electronic events specifically, Fabrica's room is the better physical space.
The surrounding area is basic. Student dorms, budget restaurants, and dark side streets. Getting there requires a Bolt or a tram ride. But once inside, the venue stands on its own merit.
The Neighborhood
Fabrica is near the Politehnica University campus on Strada 11 Iunie. The surrounding area is student-oriented with budget restaurants, dorms, and not much else. Late-night food options are limited to shawarma and fast food nearby.
Getting There
Bolt or Uber from Old Town takes 10-15 minutes and costs 15-25 RON. Tram 1 or 25 to the Regie stop puts you within a 5-minute walk. The venue is a 10-minute walk from the Politehnica metro station (M3).
