Alchemia od Kuchni
Alchemia od Kuchni (Alchemia From the Kitchen) is the concert venue behind Klub Alchemia, sharing the same building at ul. Estery 5 but operating with its own entrance, programming, and identity. The room is small, holding maybe 100 people standing, with a stage at one end and a bar at the other. The programming swings wide: Monday might be a klezmer trio. Wednesday could be a jazz quartet. Friday might host a noise-rock band from Gdansk. The booking policy prizes diversity and discovery over commercial appeal. Entry fees are low, and the sound system handles the room's size well. The intimate scale means you're close to the performers, which makes exceptional shows unforgettable and mediocre shows bearable.

Insider Tip
Check the monthly program on their website or social media. Some shows sell out, especially visiting international artists. Arrive at doors open (9 PM) for the best position near the stage. The bar is small, so order before the set starts.
Full Review
The venue entrance is around the corner from Alchemia's main door, through a courtyard. Inside, the space is essentially a large room with a raised stage, basic lighting, and a bar built into one wall. The acoustics suit amplified music without being too harsh for acoustic sets. The ceiling is low enough to keep the sound contained.
Programming is the venue's greatest asset. The booker clearly values range over commercial safety. A month's calendar might include Balkan brass, free jazz, Polish hip-hop, a classical guitarist, and an industrial electronic act. Not every show will appeal to every visitor, but the adventurous spirit rewards attendance. Ticket prices (15-40 PLN) make experimentation cheap.
The crowd changes with the programming. Jazz nights draw an older, quieter audience. Punk shows bring a younger, louder one. Electronic events fall somewhere in between. What stays consistent is the engagement level: people come here to listen, not to use the music as background noise.
The bar serves the same drinks as Alchemia's front room: cheap beer, vodka, wine. The connection between the two spaces means you can start the evening with candlelit drinks in the front, move to the concert, and return to the bar afterward. It's a complete evening in one address.
The Neighborhood
The venue shares Alchemia's corner on Plac Nowy, putting it at the center of Kazimierz's bar scene. After a show, you can walk directly to Plac Nowy's zapiekanka stalls or to any of the dozen bars within a two-minute radius.
Getting There
Same location as Klub Alchemia at Estery 5, but the concert venue entrance is through the courtyard. Walk from the Rynek in 15 minutes. Tram to Plac Wolnica, then a three-minute walk. Bolt from Old Town: 10-12 PLN.
