Nishat Hotel Lounge
The Nishat Hotel Lounge is Lahore's newest entry in the five-star hotel bar category, located in the Nishat Hotel on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam. The hotel opened more recently than the Pearl Continental or Avari, and its contemporary design shows. The lounge occupies a sleek space with modern furniture, ambient lighting, and a bar area that looks like it belongs in a Dubai or Singapore hotel rather than Pakistan. Seating accommodates about 25, with a mix of lounge chairs, a banquette, and bar stools. Alcohol service follows the universal Pakistani rule: foreign passport holders only. The selection includes imported beers (PKR 900-1,600), a spirits range that covers the expected brands, and cocktails (PKR 1,500-2,500) that show slightly more ambition than the PC or Avari. The bartender has been trained in contemporary cocktail technique and produces drinks that are properly balanced and presented. The clientele overlaps with the other hotel bars but includes a slightly younger, more internationally-traveled demographic drawn by the modern setting. The lounge feels less institutional than the PC and less corporate than the Avari, occupying a contemporary middle ground that appeals to visitors accustomed to international hotel bars.

Full Review
The Nishat Hotel Lounge represents what happens when a Pakistani five-star hotel builds a bar for the current decade rather than maintaining one from a previous era. The result is a lounge that feels surprisingly international, with design and service standards that wouldn't be out of place in newer hotels across the Gulf or Southeast Asia.
The space is the first difference. Where the Pearl Continental's bar evokes colonial-era club rooms and the Avari's lounge is corporate-neutral, the Nishat goes contemporary. Sculptural lighting fixtures, a marble-effect bar counter, textured wall panels, and furniture that prioritizes style alongside comfort. The room is smaller than the other hotel bars (about 25 seats), which creates intimacy rather than emptiness.
The bar program is the second difference. The Nishat's bartender has been trained beyond the pour-and-stir basics. Cocktails arrive in appropriate glassware with proper garnishes. An old fashioned uses good bourbon, house-made syrup, and expressed citrus peel. A gin and tonic comes with specific tonic water (not generic mixer) and fresh botanicals. At PKR 1,500-2,500, the cocktails cost more than the PC or Avari, but the quality justifies the premium.
Beer (PKR 900-1,600) and spirits (PKR 1,200-2,800) cover the standard imported range. Wine by the glass (PKR 1,000-2,000) includes a few more options than the competition, with some South African and Australian bottles joining the minimal selections found elsewhere.
The crowd skews younger than the other hotel bars. International visitors in their 30s and 40s, tech-sector business travelers, creative-industry visitors, and the segment of Pakistan's elite that travels internationally and expects international standards. The conversation is animated and the social dynamic more relaxed than the PC bar's diplomatic formality.
For visitors spending several days in Lahore, the Nishat Lounge offers the best drinking experience of the three hotel bars. The PC has history and social energy. The Avari has quiet professionalism. The Nishat has the best drinks and the most contemporary atmosphere. Trying all three over a week provides a full picture of how legal drinking works in Pakistan's most culturally rich city.
