Troika Sky Bar
Troika Sky Bar occupies the central position in The Troika's Level 23A sky dining complex, flanked by Fuego and Nao. Where those two venues focus on food-and-drink concepts, Troika Sky Bar keeps things simple: drinks with a view. The open-air bar wraps around a terrace section with direct sightlines to the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL skyline. No kitchen, no elaborate food menu, just a bar serving cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits to a crowd that comes for the panorama. Capacity is around 80 on the terrace and 40 in the small covered section. The design is deliberately minimal, letting the cityscape do the work. Drinks are competent but not the draw; you're paying for the altitude and the angle on KL's most photographed landmark.
What to Expect
The lift opens at Level 23A, and Troika Sky Bar's terrace is the first thing you see. The bar counter sits against the building, and tables spread toward the edge of the terrace. The Petronas Towers command the southern view. KL Tower rises to the west. On clear nights, the city lights extend to the horizon in every direction. A drink appears quickly. The view does the rest.
Open-air and relaxed. The view keeps energy levels up without anyone needing to try hard. Conversation and camera shutters are the main sounds.
Background chill and deep house. Quiet enough to talk over. The cityscape is the entertainment.
Smart casual. Less strict than Marini's or Blue Bar. Clean jeans and a fitted shirt work for men. No flip-flops.
Sunset drinks. First-time visitors who want the classic KL skyline photo. Pre-dinner or post-dinner drinks when dining at Fuego or Nao next door.
Cards and cash accepted. Service charge and SST add 18% to listed prices.

Insider Tip
Sunset timing is everything. KL's equatorial position means the sun sets around 7:15 PM to 7:30 PM year-round. Arrive 30 minutes early for the best light. The Twin Towers light up at dusk, creating the signature photo opportunity. Walk-ins are usually fine on weekdays; weekends benefit from a reservation.
Full Review
Troika Sky Bar is the simplest proposition on Level 23A. No themed cuisine, no elaborate cocktail program, no live music. Just a bar, a terrace, and one of KL's best angles on the Twin Towers. That simplicity is its strength.
The terrace wraps around the south-facing side of the building. Standing at the railing, the Petronas Towers fill the frame directly ahead, roughly two kilometers south. On clear evenings, the towers transition from golden at sunset to silver-white after dark, and the surrounding skyline shifts through a color palette that keeps photographers busy. On hazy evenings, the towers disappear into a gray smudge, and the experience diminishes significantly.
Drinks are adequate. The cocktail list covers standard options competently without aspiring to greatness. A gin and tonic arrives correctly. A mojito is refreshing. Nobody is visiting Troika Sky Bar for the drinks. The pricing, MYR 40 to 55 for a cocktail, reflects the view rather than the liquid in the glass.
The advantage over Fuego and Nao is commitment level. You can show up for one drink, take in the view, and leave in 30 minutes without feeling you've underspent. No minimum spend, no dinner expectation, no DJ to shout over. It works as a first stop before dinner at one of the adjacent restaurants, or as a last stop on an evening that started elsewhere.
Weekend evenings fill the terrace by 7:30 PM. By 9:00 PM, standing room becomes the norm. Weekday visits are more relaxed, with tables available throughout the evening. The covered section near the bar provides shelter during rain but lacks the open-air impact of the terrace seats.
