Bedroom

4.1
(1,850 reviews)
Vitosha Boulevard, Sofia

Bedroom positions itself as Sofia's premium nightclub experience, occupying a sleek space on ul. Tsar Shishman 12, one block east of Vitosha Boulevard. The venue holds around 600 people and focuses on quality over quantity: international DJ bookings, a properly calibrated sound system, and a fit-out that includes custom lighting, plush seating, and a long marble-top bar. Bottle service dominates the business model, with reserved tables taking up significant floor space and minimum spend requirements on weekends. The music policy leans toward deep house, tech-house, and melodic techno during the early hours, shifting to more commercial territory as the night progresses. The crowd skews 25-40, dressed well, and heavily local. Foreign tourists appear but don't dominate. Bedroom has built its reputation on consistent quality since opening in the mid-2010s, and it regularly brings DJs from the European circuit.

What to Expect

You enter through a minimalist lobby and descend into a room that feels designed rather than decorated. Low lighting, a mix of standing areas and booth seating, and a dance floor that's intimate without being cramped. The DJ booth sits at floor level, creating a connection between the music and the crowd that elevated booths don't allow. Service at the bar is attentive, and drinks arrive quickly even on busy nights.

Atmosphere

Sleek, controlled, and focused on the music. Less chaotic than Yalta, more intentional in its crowd and programming.

Music

Deep house, tech-house, melodic techno early in the night. Commercial house and EDM later. Occasional international guest DJs playing extended sets.

Dress Code

Smart casual enforced on weekends. Dark jeans, a decent shirt or blouse, and proper shoes. Sneakers are borderline. Sportswear won't get you past the door.

Best For

Couples and small groups who want Sofia's most polished club experience. Electronic music fans who appreciate proper sound. The 25-40 age bracket.

Payment

Cards preferred for bottle service. Cash and cards accepted at the bar. BGN is the standard currency.

Insider Tip

Book a table in advance for Saturday nights; walk-ins often face a queue or get turned away when capacity fills. The sound is best in the center of the room, not near the walls. Thursday is the less crowded option with the same DJ quality.

Full Review

Bedroom fills a gap in Sofia's nightlife that other cities take for granted: a mid-sized club with genuine attention to sound, lighting, and atmosphere. The space on Tsar Shishman is compact enough to feel energetic at moderate capacity but large enough to avoid claustrophobia on packed nights.

The interior design is dark and modern. Booth seating lines the walls, a central standing area feeds into the dance floor, and the bar stretches along one side with backlit shelves displaying the spirits selection. Lighting is programmed to match the music, not just flashing randomly. The sound system is the venue's strongest asset; it fills the room cleanly at volume without the distortion that plagues larger clubs.

Service is a clear step above Sofia's average. Bar staff know the drinks menu and work efficiently. Bottle service is smooth and attentive without being intrusive. The crowd responds to this level of effort by behaving accordingly. Bedroom is not a place where fights break out or drinks get thrown.

The price premium over Yalta or Studentski Grad clubs is noticeable. Entry is higher, drinks cost more, and bottle service minimums are real. But the experience justifies the cost if you value quality over volume. Thursday nights offer the best balance: good DJs, a solid crowd, and less pressure on tables and door policy.

The Neighborhood

Bedroom sits one block from Vitosha Boulevard on a street that also hosts several cocktail bars and restaurants. Pre-game options within a 2-minute walk include Motto, Memento, and several wine bars on Tsar Shishman. Post-club, late-night food is available at kebab shops on Graf Ignatiev, a 5-minute walk east.

Getting There

Walk from anywhere on Vitosha Boulevard in under 5 minutes. Serdika metro station is a 10-minute walk. Taxis from NDK cost BGN 3-4.
