Bar Bukowski
Bar Bukowski does what a good neighborhood bar should: cold beer, simple food, and a crowd of regulars who keep the conversation going. Named after the writer, the space has a literary-bohemian feel without being pretentious about it. The after-work crowd fills the tables from 6 PM, replaced by a late-night crowd that drifts in from nearby. Beer is cold and cheap, the bar food (pastéis, coxinhas) does the job, and the jukebox plays whatever someone fed it. It's not trying to impress anyone. That's why it works.
What to Expect
A no-frills bar with genuine character. Regulars prop up the bar, conversations flow easily between strangers, and the vibe is warmly unpretentious. Not a destination bar, but a great place to drink like a local.
Unpretentious and genuine. A writer's bar, in spirit if not in practice.
Jukebox selections. Rock, MPB, whatever someone picks.
Come as you are.
Anyone looking for an authentic local bar experience without the nightlife pressure.

Insider Tip
The pastéis (fried pastries) are legitimately good bar food. Come during the after-work rush for the most social atmosphere. Weekend nights are quieter but more conversational.
