Bar do Boni claims one of the better physical positions in Lagoa nightlife, sitting at the southern end of Avenida das Rendeiras where the avenue curves around the lagoon's shore. The venue is built across multiple levels with the main bar and indoor seating at street level, an outdoor deck overlooking the water, and the kitchen and back-of-house occupying the inland side. The lagoon view is the headline feature, particularly during the late afternoon when the western light catches the surface and the hills across the water turn warmer.

The live music programming runs daily and varies in quality and style. Earlier evening sets tend toward MPB, bossa nova, and Brazilian standards, with smaller acoustic duos and trios working at conversation-friendly volume. Later sets push harder into samba, light rock, and the occasional jazz combo. The musicianship varies; this is not John Bull's curated programming. On a good night the music adds to the evening; on a quieter night it functions as background. The Instagram posts most upcoming acts.

The food matters more than at most Lagoa bars. The camarões program is genuinely strong, with grilled shrimp dishes, shrimp risottos, and shrimp stew variations that draw locals specifically for the kitchen. Sequência de camarão (the multi-course shrimp tasting) appears on some nights and lives up to the regional reputation. Other Brazilian standards round out the menu at fair prices.

The crowd skews local. Lagoa residents, Argentine summer regulars, expats from the surrounding hills, and the smaller flow of tourists. The pace is slow and conversational, the volume stays moderate, and the atmosphere is more restaurant-bar than dance venue. Service is friendly and unhurried, with longer wait times during peak summer Saturdays and Sundays. Most patrons stay for hours rather than turning over quickly.
