Colonial
Colonial is one of the few proper nightclubs in Blloku, operating from a basement-level space on Rruga Ibrahim Rugova. The venue holds about 300 people across a main dance floor, a bar running the length of one wall, and a raised VIP section with bottle service. The interior is dark with LED lighting systems that change color to match the music. A DJ booth sits above the dance floor at one end. The club programs a mix of commercial house, Albanian pop hits, and hip-hop depending on the night, with weekend lineups posted on social media mid-week. Colonial opens late by Albanian standards, with the doors unlocking at 11 PM and the floor not filling until after midnight. It runs until 4-5 AM on weekends, making it one of Blloku's latest-closing venues.
What to Expect
Steps lead down from the street into a dark, bass-heavy space. The transition from Blloku's tree-lined streets to an underground club is abrupt. The dance floor fills from the edges inward, and by 1 AM the center is packed. Security is present but not overbearing.
Dark, loud, and packed. A proper nightclub in a district of bars.
Commercial house, Albanian pop, hip-hop, and R&B. Varies by night and DJ.
Smart casual enforced. No sneakers, no sportswear. Looking presentable matters at the door.
Clubbers who want to dance until sunrise, groups celebrating, anyone looking for Blloku's biggest party
Cash and cards accepted. Cash faster at the bar.

Get on the guest list through your hotel or by messaging the venue on Instagram. The line moves slowly after 1 AM. The VIP section offers better service and shorter bar waits, and splitting a bottle between four people can be cheaper than individual drinks all night.
Full Review
Colonial fills the nightclub gap in Blloku. While the district excels at bars, terraces, and cocktail lounges, proper dance venues are scarce. Colonial provides the bass, the darkness, and the 4 AM closing time that the bar circuit can't.
The space is functional rather than beautiful. The LED lighting does its job, the sound system is powerful enough for the room, and the layout puts the dance floor at the center where it belongs. The bar is long enough to handle the crowd, though waits of 5-10 minutes happen at peak hours. VIP tables along the elevated section provide seating and faster service for groups willing to commit to bottle service.
The music policy is the club's most variable element. A good DJ working through a house set can make Colonial feel like a venue that belongs in a bigger city. An average DJ playing safe Albanian pop hits makes it feel like a provincial club with good lighting. The weekend lineup determines the experience, and checking the Instagram announcement before deciding to go is worth the 30 seconds.
The crowd is young, Albanian, and dressed up. Women arrive in heels and outfits that took planning. Men wear tight jeans and fitted shirts. The social performance is part of the experience, and Colonial's dance floor doubles as a stage for Tirana's going-out culture. Foreign visitors are welcome and generally attract curiosity rather than hostility. The prices remain remarkably low throughout; dancing until 4 AM with a full bar tab under EUR 30 is entirely achievable.
