Whiskey Bar
Whiskey Bar is a deliberately intimate venue in Yunusabad that provides a counterpoint to the district's high-energy nightclubs. The room holds about 35 people across leather armchairs, a handful of small tables, and eight bar stools along a wooden counter. The whiskey collection lines the back wall on lit shelves, displaying around 80 bottles spanning Scotch single malts, American bourbon, Japanese whiskey, and Irish selections. A cigar humidor near the entrance stocks a modest but genuine selection of Cuban and Dominican cigars. The lighting stays low and warm, the music stays at conversational volume, and the overall effect is a gentleman's club atmosphere without the stuffiness. The bartender has genuine knowledge of the collection and can guide drinkers through flights or recommend pairings with the cigars. The crowd is small by design: professionals and older visitors who prefer their evenings seated in leather with a glass of something aged, rather than standing on a dance floor.
What to Expect
A small, quiet whiskey bar with leather seating, low lighting, and a collection of 80 bottles. The atmosphere is calm and conversational. Expect to sip slowly, talk quietly, and enjoy the contrast with the clubs outside.
Intimate and warm. The low lighting, leather, and wood create a cocoon effect. The small capacity means the room feels full with just 20 people, and the vibe stays consistently calm.
Jazz, blues, and lounge at low volume. The music exists at the edge of awareness, supporting the atmosphere without intruding on conversation.
Smart casual. The leather armchairs and whiskey shelves set a tone that discourages athletic wear. Collared shirts and clean shoes fit the room.
Whiskey enthusiasts, cigar smokers, couples wanting a quiet evening, pre-club or post-club decompression

Ask the bartender to build a flight of three whiskies based on your preferences. Try at least one pour from the Japanese selection, which is well-curated. The leather armchairs near the back wall are the most comfortable seats.
Full Review
Whiskey Bar fills a niche in Yunusabad that the clubs can't touch. Where Moda and Platinum sell energy and status, this venue sells calm and quality. The proposition is simple: sit in a leather armchair, drink good whiskey, maybe smoke a cigar, and have a conversation without shouting.
The whiskey collection is the venue's anchor. Eighty bottles is not a world-class collection, but it's curated with intelligence. The Scotch section covers the major regions: peaty Islays, smooth Speysides, and a few Highland malts. The bourbon selection includes familiar names like Maker's Mark and Woodford Reserve alongside less common choices. The Japanese whiskey section is the most interesting, with bottles from Suntory and Nikka that are increasingly difficult to find in their home country. The bartender knows the collection well enough to discuss tasting notes, production methods, and food or cigar pairings without reading from a card.
The cigar offering is genuine. The humidor maintains proper humidity, and the cigars are real Cuban and Dominican brands, not the questionable products sold at some Central Asian tobacco shops. A ventilated smoking area allows cigar enjoyment without filling the main bar with smoke. Pairing a Montecristo with a peaty Scotch in a leather armchair is a specific pleasure, and Whiskey Bar delivers it at a price that would buy the cigar alone in most Western cities.
The room's intimacy is its defining characteristic and occasional limitation. With 35 seats, a busy Friday night fills the space completely. Arriving after 10 PM on a weekend may mean waiting or settling for a less desirable spot. The flip side is that on quieter weeknights, the bar feels like a private club. Tuesday or Wednesday visits offer the best balance of atmosphere and availability.
As part of a Yunusabad evening, Whiskey Bar works in several positions. It's an excellent starting point before heading to Moda or Platinum, allowing you to ease into the night with quality sipping before the volume increases. It's equally good as a late-night wind-down after the clubs, letting the ringing in your ears subside over a final pour. The bartender's willingness to suggest and discuss makes solo visits rewarding.
