Sky Lounge Tashkent

Yunusabad, Tashkent

Sky Lounge Tashkent occupies the top floor of one of Yunusabad's newer commercial towers, offering panoramic views across the flat expanse of Tashkent from an elevation that puts you above most of the city's skyline. The space wraps around the building's top level with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, a partially enclosed outdoor terrace, and a central bar that serves cocktails well above the Tashkent average in both quality and price. The interior seats about 80 across a mix of bar stools, lounge sofas, and small tables positioned to maximize the view. The outdoor terrace adds 30 seats for warm-weather evenings. The cocktail menu runs to 25 or so options using premium spirits and fresh ingredients, a notable step up from the basic mixed drinks at most Tashkent bars. The crowd skews slightly older and more professional than Club Moda's dance floor demographic, drawing couples, business dinners, and small groups who prefer conversation to bass drops. On clear evenings, the Chimgan mountain foothills are visible on the horizon.

What to Expect

A high-floor lounge with city views and cocktails that are genuinely well-made. The atmosphere is calm and sophisticated compared to the clubs below. Expect a well-dressed crowd having conversations at a volume where you can actually hear each other.

Atmosphere

Sleek and panoramic. The height and windows create a floating sensation, and the soft lighting after dark turns the city below into a carpet of lights. Conversations stay at a civilized level.

Dress Code

Smart casual to dressy. The crowd and setting both encourage putting some effort in. Collared shirts for men, no athletic wear.

Full Review

Sky Lounge Tashkent makes its case on two things: the view and the drinks. Both deliver. The panoramic windows offer a perspective on Tashkent that most visitors never get, looking out over the Soviet-era apartment blocks, the newer towers of the Tashkent City development, and the flat steppe stretching to the mountain foothills on the eastern horizon. At sunset, the view justifies the visit entirely.

The cocktail program is genuinely ambitious for Tashkent. The bartenders work with quality spirits, fresh-squeezed juices, and house-made syrups. The espresso martini uses properly extracted espresso and premium vodka, producing a version that competes with what you'd find in a good Moscow or Istanbul cocktail bar. Sour-style drinks use fresh citrus. The menu changes seasonally, with summer bringing fruit-forward options and winter shifting to spirit-forward warming cocktails.

The interior design supports the concept without competing with the view. Comfortable seating, warm wood and leather tones, and lighting calibrated to be flattering after dark create an environment where you want to settle in for multiple drinks. The outdoor terrace is the premium seating during warm months, adding fresh air and an unobstructed sky to the package.

The crowd at Sky Lounge is Yunusabad at its most composed. Business meetings extend into evening drinks. Couples mark occasions. Small groups of friends catch up over cocktails and hookah. The absence of a dance floor and the moderate music volume create an atmosphere where conversation is the primary social mode. This is Tashkent's grown-up nightlife option.

Pricing is Tashkent's highest for a bar, but context matters. The most expensive cocktail on the menu costs about $7.50, a figure that wouldn't cover a well drink at most rooftop bars in cities that consider themselves cocktail destinations. For the combination of view, drink quality, and atmosphere, Sky Lounge represents remarkable value.

The practical consideration is timing. Arrive too early and the daylight flattens the view. Arrive too late and the best seats are taken. The sweet spot is 6-7 PM, early enough to claim a window seat and late enough to watch the sunset transition unfold.

The Neighborhood

Atop a commercial tower in the Yunusabad district. Club Moda and Platinum Club are nearby for late-night clubbing. Panorama Restaurant and Whiskey Bar offer different vibes within the same district.

Getting There

Yandex Go from central Tashkent costs 20,000-30,000 UZS, 15-20 minutes. Enter the building at ground level and take the elevator to the top floor. Signage in the lobby directs you.
