Iris Abu Dhabi
Iris Abu Dhabi operates from the rooftop of the Yas Viceroy hotel, positioned on a bridge that spans the Formula 1 start-finish straight. The hotel's architecture, a wing structure that literally sits over the circuit on support columns, gives Iris a vantage point directly above the track. During Grand Prix week in November, this physical position becomes one of the most unusual bar experiences in international motorsport: drinks from a rooftop while race cars are visible below. Outside race season, the rooftop functions as a standard hotel lounge with panoramic views of the Yas Marina, the Yas Mall, and the circuit infrastructure. Capacity is moderate, serving both hotel guests and outside visitors.

Full Review
The Yas Viceroy's bridge architecture makes arriving at Iris feel like entering an installation rather than a hotel rooftop. The elevator takes you above the circuit level, and the bar opens onto a terrace that looks down at the start-finish straight on one side and across the Yas Marina on the other. In November during race week, the scene below the terrace edge is the actual Formula 1 paddock and pit lane infrastructure.
Outside race season, the circuit is dormant but the infrastructure remains. The grandstands, the hospitality suites, the circuit markings: all visible from the bar. For motorsport enthusiasts, this has its own appeal independent of any racing activity.
The drinks program is a competent hotel rooftop operation. The cocktail menu features standard classics and house signatures without particular innovation. The wine list is appropriate for the price tier. A sunset gin and tonic at AED 95 while looking across the Yas Marina is a reasonable proposition for what's being delivered.
Service during regular weeks is attentive and professional. During Grand Prix week, the volume increases sharply and service can stretch. Pre-ordering drinks and having patience with staff during the circuit weekend is the pragmatic approach.
Iris has a clear positioning in the Yas Island landscape: it's the view venue, as Garage is the music venue. The combination of both on a single Yas Island evening, starting at Iris for sunset drinks and moving to Garage for the late night, covers the island's nightlife offering reasonably completely.
