Stratos Anti-Gravity
Stratos Anti-Gravity sits at the top of the Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi and is one of the few revolving bars remaining in active operation in the Gulf. The platform completes a full 360-degree rotation approximately every 90 minutes, sweeping through views of the Corniche waterfront, Abu Dhabi's downtown skyline, and the open Gulf on the opposite side. The bar format is lounge-style rather than club-style, with seating arranged to maximize the view and a drinks program that runs cocktails, wine, and spirits alongside light food. The revolving mechanism means your view changes continuously, and the novelty of watching the city slowly rotate around you has kept the venue relevant despite its relatively dated concept.

Insider Tip
Arrive at the start of a rotation if possible, though staff can tell you roughly where in the rotation you are when you enter. Sunset visits between 6 PM and 8 PM give the best light on the Corniche and Gulf. The bar's novelty factor makes it a strong first drink for visitors rather than a late-night destination.
Full Review
The elevator to Stratos opens at the top of the Le Royal Meridien onto a reception area, and then the circular bar platform becomes visible. The room is organized in a ring around the central fixed service core, with the outer wall entirely glass. Seating faces outward, and the floor-to-ceiling windows give unobstructed views in every direction.
The rotation is slow and smooth. You don't feel movement; you simply notice that the view through your window has changed between ordering a drink and receiving it. Over 90 minutes, the Corniche waterfront, the Abu Dhabi skyline cluster, the lower residential areas, and the Gulf itself all pass. The Abu Dhabi National Towers are visible at eye level during part of the rotation.
Drinks quality is reliable. The cocktail menu covers classics and house creations without particular innovation. A gin and tonic is made well. The wine list is adequate for a hotel bar. The focus is clearly on the experience rather than the beverage program, and this is a reasonable trade-off.
The crowd on an evening visit will be hotel guests, business travelers, and couples. It skews older than Crystal Lounge and operates at a lower energy level by design. On weeknights it's quiet enough that you can talk without raising your voice while watching the Corniche rotate past.
The main criticism is that the concept carries the venue rather than the execution. As a bar program, Stratos is competent but not exceptional. As a place to watch Abu Dhabi slowly turn around you with a drink in hand, it does something most venues in the city can't.
