Skuret
Skuret occupies a converted dockside warehouse at the Aker Brygge waterfront, keeping the industrial bones visible beneath a polished cocktail bar operation. Exposed brick walls, steel beams, and maritime-era fixtures frame a space that seats about 80 across a mix of booths, bar stools, and low tables. The cocktail menu changes with the seasons, built around house-made syrups, infusions, and Nordic ingredients like sea buckthorn, lingonberry, and aquavit. The bartenders take their work seriously without taking themselves too seriously, which is a balance that many Oslo bars miss. The crowd skews late twenties to forties, mostly professionals who've graduated from the beer-bar circuit but aren't looking for the stuffy formality of hotel bars. Weekend evenings get busy after 10 PM, and the lack of a reservation system means first-come seating. The sound system plays jazz, soul, and low-key electronic at a volume that allows conversation. A small food menu offers sharing plates designed to pair with cocktails.

Insider Tip
Sit at the bar to watch the bartenders work and get faster service. The seasonal specials are usually better than the classics menu. Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday for the best chance of getting a booth without waiting.
Full Review
The entrance is easy to miss unless you know what you're looking for. A modest sign on the warehouse facade leads into a narrow corridor that opens into the main bar space. The conversion from dock storage to cocktail bar preserved the character: brick walls show their age, steel fixtures remain exposed, and the ceiling height suggests the building once held cargo, not cocktails.
The bar dominates one wall, backlit by shelves of spirits that reach nearly to the ceiling. Bartenders here know their craft. The seasonal menu rotates quarterly, incorporating Nordic ingredients that sound experimental but taste balanced. A recent autumn menu featured a cocktail with cloudberry, aged aquavit, and honey that worked far better than it should have. Classic cocktails are available but the house creations are the reason to come.
Seating splits between intimate booths along the walls and stools at the bar. The booths are the premium spots, dimly lit and semi-private. The bar stools offer entertainment through conversation with the staff and proximity to the cocktail production. A few low tables with armchairs fill the gaps. Total capacity is modest, which keeps the atmosphere controlled.
Compared to other cocktail bars in Oslo, Skuret distinguishes itself through the warehouse setting and the Nordic-inflected menu. It's less formal than The Thief Bar up the road and more focused than the all-purpose bars along the main strip. Prices are high by global standards but competitive for the quality in this part of Oslo. If you're going to spend NOK 200 on a cocktail, this is one of the better places to do it.
The Neighborhood
Skuret is part of the Aker Brygge waterfront complex, between the main restaurant strip and the Tjuvholmen extension. The surrounding area has plenty of dinner options to pair with a cocktail session.
Getting There
Tram to Aker Brygge or walk from Nationaltheatret T-bane (10 minutes). The venue is set back slightly from the main promenade, so look for signage near the western end of the wharf buildings.
