Octava Club
Octava Club is a five-story premium nightclub at Carrera 8 #63-41 in eastern Chapinero, ranked among DJ Mag's Top 100 clubs of the world. The venue focuses on international electronic DJs with cutting-edge sound and lighting, drawing a young fashion-conscious crowd that arrives later and stays later than most Bogotá clubs. Each floor runs a different programming and design concept; the main floor handles the marquee headliner sets while satellite floors program tech-house, deep house, and occasional drum and bass. Cover charges run higher than the neighborhood average, often 40,000-90,000 COP depending on the booking, with bottle service prices climbing aggressively at the VIP tables. The crowd skews mid-twenties to thirties, well-dressed, and serious about the lineup. The venue typically runs only Friday and Saturday with occasional Thursday events.

Buy tickets online for marquee international bookings; door prices climb sharply when capacity is tight. Five-floor format means sampling each before committing; the smaller upper floors often have the most interesting programming. Dress to match the crowd.
Full Review
Octava occupies a five-story corner building on Carrera 8, with the entrance leading into a foyer that connects to elevators and stairs reaching each floor. The design language is consistent throughout the building: industrial materials (concrete, exposed steel) softened with LED panels and warm lighting at the bars. Each floor has its own bar, dance area, and DJ booth.
The main floor is the largest and houses the marquee DJ booth. The sound system rivals Video Club's; the lighting rig is more elaborate, with retractable LED panels and laser arrays calibrated to the music. The headliner slot runs from about 1 AM to 4 AM most nights, with opening sets building from 10 PM.
The satellite floors program complementary electronic styles. One floor runs tech-house consistently; another runs deeper or more melodic techno; a third programs disco and house classics; the top floor often runs as a smaller intimate room with experimental or harder electronic. The crowd circulates between floors as the night progresses.
The DJ Mag Top 100 ranking is the venue's marketing differentiator. The bookings reflect that ranking: international electronic acts at consistent quality, with bookings rotating from Berlin, Ibiza, London, and the wider electronic touring circuit. The calendar tilts more commercial than Video Club's underground programming, but the production quality is higher.
Compared with Video Club, Octava is more polished, more fashion-conscious, and runs a slightly more commercial booking calendar. Compared with Theatron, it's smaller, more curated, and more music-focused. The Chapinero location is closer to the foothills than the main Carrera 13 strip; transport requires Uber.
The venue can climb in cost quickly. Top-tier international bookings push the cover toward 90,000 COP; VIP bottle service starts at 400,000 COP and runs higher fast. For visitors with budget flexibility wanting the premium Bogotá electronic experience, this is the choice.
The Neighborhood
Octava sits east of Carrera 13 toward the foothills, slightly removed from the main Chapinero strip. The walk from Video Club is not advised; Uber across is the practical move.
Getting There
Uber, Cabify, or InDriver to Carrera 8 #63-41. From Centro the ride costs 15,000-22,000 COP; from Zona Rosa 10,000-16,000 COP.
