Boogaloop
Boogaloop is a mid-sized music club at Carrera 13 #65-42 in central Chapinero, with a dedicated stage built for live bands and independent DJs from Bogotá and across Colombia. The space holds about 300 across a main floor with the stage at one end, a bar along the side wall, and a small mezzanine for elevated viewing. Programming spans rock, electronic, and Latin alternative, with the calendar mixing weekly residencies, touring Colombian bands, and DJ nights filling between gigs. The venue is one of the more reliable midweek options in Chapinero, with shows running Wednesday through Saturday and a small Sunday afternoon program. Cover ranges from free on quiet weeknights to 30,000 COP for headlining acts. The crowd skews younger and more local than the rooftop circuit, with university students, indie musicians, and longer-stay expats.

Full Review
Boogaloop occupies a corner space on Carrera 13 with the stage anchoring the back wall, the main floor stretching toward the front, and a bar running along the right wall. The mezzanine runs across the back third of the room, giving 30-40 patrons elevated views of the stage. The decor leans into the live music aesthetic: framed band posters, exposed wood, and warm bar lighting.
The programming runs across multiple genres. Wednesday nights often handle indie rock or electronic showcases; Thursday and Friday lean toward touring Colombian bands; Saturday handles the bigger DJ nights. The Sunday afternoon program covers acoustic sets and smaller acts. Bookings rotate weekly; the calendar is the place to check before showing up.
The sound system is well-tuned for live bands. The PA handles rock, electronic, and Latin alternative consistently; the monitors on stage are decent enough that touring acts don't complain. The room has good acoustics for its size; the back of the floor still gets a solid mix.
Drink prices are among the cheapest in Chapinero nightlife. Beer sits at 10,000-14,000 COP; cocktails are basic but well-priced. The bar isn't trying to compete with the cocktail venues; it's serving the music crowd with what they actually want.
Compared with Armando Records on Calle 85, Boogaloop is smaller, more committed to live music, and less polished. Compared with the larger Chapinero clubs (Theatron, Video Club), it's a fraction of the size and focuses on bands rather than DJ-only programming. The central Chapinero location requires care arriving and leaving; always Uber.
