Full Review
Laundry Bar leans into its name with washing-machine themed decor and art that references the mundane act of doing laundry. It's a visual joke that works because the rest of the venue takes its music programming seriously. The space is mid-sized with a stage for live acts and enough floor space for the crowd to move when the DJ takes over.
Live bands rotate through the schedule, playing indie, alternative, and electronic sets that draw a crowd tired of Pub Street's mainstream party format. The musicians are a mix of local Cambodian acts and traveling performers. On nights without live music, the DJ fills the space with alternative and electronic selections that maintain the venue's identity. The crowd skews slightly older and more musically engaged than the average Pub Street visitor.
Laundry Bar fills the alternative niche on a strip that otherwise runs uniform. If Angkor What? is the mainstream starting point and Miss Wong is the cocktail escape, Laundry Bar is the music-first option. The programming is the differentiator; the drinks and prices are comparable to other Pub Street venues.
Check for live music nights before visiting. The difference between a band night and a regular DJ night is significant. The alternative programming is what justifies seeking this place out; on a quiet night, it's just another bar on the strip.

Other Venues in Pub Street

Angkor What? Bar
Iconic backpacker institution operating since 1998, self-described as 'promoting irresponsible drinking.' Cheap beer buckets, deafening music, and a permanent party atmosphere every night of the week.

Temple Club
Large multi-level venue with a ground-floor restaurant, upstairs bar, and a packed dance floor. Free entry most nights with commercial dance and hip-hop from resident DJs.

Miss Wong
1930s Shanghai-inspired cocktail bar down The Lane, just off Pub Street. Well-crafted drinks in a dimly lit, intimate setting at mid-range prices. One of Siem Reap's few genuinely sophisticated bars.

X Bar
Rooftop bar and club with open-air views over the old market area. Regular DJ nights, fire shows, and a pool table draw a younger backpacker crowd that stays until sunrise.
