Miss Wong
Miss Wong is Siem Reap's most atmospheric cocktail bar, decorated like a 1920s Shanghai opium den complete with red lanterns, dark wood, and velvet seating. The cocktail menu is expertly crafted with Asian-inspired ingredients. It's the polar opposite of Pub Street's beer-and-shots culture: sophisticated, dimly lit, and designed for lingering over a well-made drink. The staff wears cheongsam-inspired uniforms and the whole aesthetic is committed to the fantasy.

Full Review
Miss Wong is a mood piece. Red lanterns cast warm light across dark wood paneling and velvet seating. The bar is intimate, with a counter where you can watch cocktails assembled with precision. Staff wear cheongsam-inspired uniforms. The music is low enough for conversation: 1920s jazz and Chinese-inspired lounge that reinforces the Shanghai fantasy without being overbearing.
The cocktails are Siem Reap's best by a comfortable margin. Asian-inspired ingredients, including lemongrass, kaffir lime, and star anise, appear in drinks that are genuinely well-balanced. The house specials outperform the classics, which is rare for a themed bar. The crowd is couples, cocktail enthusiasts, and travelers who've been on Pub Street long enough to need an antidote to the chaos outside the door.
Miss Wong operates on a different plane from everything else on Pub Street. Angkor What? sells volume and energy. X Bar sells variety. Miss Wong sells atmosphere and craft, and delivers on both. The price point is higher at $5-9 per cocktail, but by any global standard those prices are still modest for this quality.
Come when you need a reset from Pub Street's party energy. The house specials are better than the classics on the menu. The intimate size means it fills on busy nights; arriving before 8 PM secures a good seat. This is a conversation bar, not a dancing bar.
The Neighborhood
Miss Wong sits just off the main Pub Street strip in Siem Reap, close enough to be accessible but atmospherically worlds apart. It provides Siem Reap's cocktail-focused travelers with an alternative to the budget beer bars that define the neighborhood.
Getting There
Tuk-tuk from Siem Reap hotels costs $1-2. A short walk from the main Pub Street pedestrian zone. Look for the red lanterns marking the entrance on the side street.
