Olga's Italian Corner
Olga's Italian Corner sits on Mosi-oa-Tunya Road in the heart of Livingstone's tourist corridor, roughly 4 kilometers from the Victoria Falls entrance. The restaurant and bar occupies a converted building with a large garden terrace that serves as the town's default social hub. Inside seating handles about 40 guests, while the garden accommodates another 80 under shade cloth and jacaranda trees. The menu is Italian-Zambian fusion: wood-fired pizzas, pasta dishes, grilled meats, and salads alongside cold beer and a wine list sourced from South Africa. The bar is the real draw after 8 PM, when the restaurant tables clear and the terrace fills with tourists comparing notes on the day's activities. During peak season (June to October), live music acts perform on weekends, typically acoustic guitar or a small band playing covers and local hits. Olga's has operated since the mid-2000s and has earned its reputation through consistency. The food is reliably good, the beer is always cold, and the staff know the tourist crowd's needs. It serves as the natural starting point for any evening in Livingstone.

Full Review
Olga's is the default choice in Livingstone for a reason: it does everything competently and nothing badly. The pizza comes from a real wood-fired oven and arrives with a proper char on the crust. The pasta is cooked correctly. The grilled meats are seasoned well. None of it will make a food critic weep with joy, but after a day of white-water rafting or falls walking, it hits the spot.
The garden terrace is where the magic happens. Tables are spaced close enough that conversations bleed between them, creating a communal atmosphere that indoor restaurants struggle to replicate. By 9 PM on a Friday during peak season, the terrace holds a mix of nationalities: German backpackers, South African families, British gap-year travelers, and American adventure tourists. The staff navigate this diversity with practiced ease, switching between English and basic phrases in several other languages.
The bar service improves after the dinner rush clears. Cocktails are mixed with more care when the bartender isn't also handling food orders. The wine list focuses on South African bottles, with a few Namibian options. Beer is the safe choice: Mosi Lager and Castle are always available and always cold.
Live music during peak season adds genuine value. The acts vary from solo guitarists playing Jimmy Buffett covers to three-piece bands performing Zambian and South African songs. The quality is uneven but the atmosphere compensates. When the music works, the terrace becomes the kind of evening that travel memories are built from.
The location on Mosi-oa-Tunya Road means taxis are easy to find outside. Most lodge shuttle services know Olga's by name and will pick up guests. The walk from nearby backpacker lodges is feasible during daylight but should be done by taxi after dark.
