Sugar Club
Sugar Club is a hip-hop and R&B focused club in the middle of Bangla Road at 172 Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Rd. The format differs from the EDM-heavy neighbors: Sugar runs hip-hop, R&B, trap, and Vinahouse with periodic international rap acts headlining the calendar. The space holds about 800 across a main floor with the DJ booth at the back, raised platforms, and a wraparound bar. Cover charges are often free on quieter nights and packaged with drinks on busy weekends. The crowd skews younger than Illuzion or Hollywood, with a higher proportion of Korean, Chinese, and other Asian tourist groups drawn by the hip-hop programming. The venue gets noticeably busier when international rap acts come through; the standard weekend program runs resident DJs handling the rotation.

Full Review
Sugar Club sits on Rat-U-Thit just past the Bangla Road intersection, technically off Bangla proper but functionally part of the same nightlife strip. The entrance is signed with neon and LED panels; door staff handle the cover and ID checks. Inside, the main floor opens into a wide rectangular space with the DJ booth at the back wall, raised platforms running along the sides, and a wraparound bar.
The programming is the venue's actual differentiator. While Bangla's other major clubs lean heavily into EDM and commercial dance, Sugar runs hip-hop, R&B, trap, and Vinahouse as the core. International rap acts come through every few weeks; the standard calendar runs resident DJs handling the genre rotation. The Korean and Chinese tourist contingents particularly favor Sugar; the hip-hop and Vinahouse programming appeals to that demographic more than the EDM heavyweights.
The sound system handles low-end bass well, which matters for the hip-hop format. The lighting rig is less elaborate than Illuzion's but adequate; the room feels less industrial and more intimate. The drink prices sit slightly below Illuzion and Tiger but match the standard Bangla club tier.
The crowd skews younger and more Asian-leaning than the EDM clubs. Korean tour groups, Chinese visitors, and Vietnamese travelers are all visible; Western tourists are present but less dominant. The dance floor energy follows hip-hop rhythms rather than EDM build-and-drop patterns.
Compared with Illuzion, Sugar is smaller, less expensive, and genre-distinct. Compared with Hollywood and Tiger, it's the newest and most genre-focused of the Bangla major clubs. For visitors who want a hip-hop night rather than another EDM session, this is the consensus alternative.
