Hollywood Phuket

Patong / Bangla Road, Phuket

Hollywood Phuket is one of the oldest nightclubs on Bangla Road, sitting at 7 Bangla Rd at the beach end of the strip. The two-story venue runs EDM and house with a large dance floor on the main level and a smaller second-floor lounge. The capacity tops 1,200 at peak; the sound system was renovated in 2023 and competes with the newer venues. The programming includes frequent guest DJs in high season, with the calendar mixing international electronic acts and resident sets. Cover ranges from free to 500 THB depending on the booking; standard nights include a drink package. The crowd is mixed international tourists with Russian, Australian, and Korean contingents particularly visible; the venue's beach-end location pulls walk-in traffic from the open-air beer bars.

Full Review

Hollywood's address at 7 Bangla puts it as one of the first major venues you encounter walking inland from the beach. The exterior is unmistakable with its hollywood-styled signage; the door staff handle the cover and ID checks efficiently. Inside, the main floor opens into a sprawling dance floor with the DJ booth raised at the back, a long bar running along one side, and elevated platforms for the venue's pole dancers.

The 2023 sound system renovation brought Hollywood up to competitive standards with the newer venues. The acoustics are better than the room's age would suggest; the lighting rig has the standard EDM-club layout with lasers, strobes, and LED panels. The DJ booth handles international guest acts when the calendar pulls them in.

The second-floor lounge is the venue's secondary space. The format is smaller, quieter, and runs as a breather room when the main floor saturates. Drink prices match the main floor; the crowd is the visitors who want to step away from the peak energy without leaving.

The crowd mix is unusually international. Russian groups have been a Hollywood fixture for years; Australian and Korean contingents are also visible. Thai patrons are less common; this is a tourist-pull venue rather than a local destination.

Compared with Illuzion (massive, polished, more expensive) and Tiger (open-air beer bars plus upstairs club), Hollywood runs the cleaner standalone nightclub format. The beach-end location is a strategic advantage: walkers coming up from the beach hit it first; departures back to the beach come naturally past it. For visitors making a night of all of Bangla's major clubs, Hollywood is the typical first or last stop.

The Neighborhood

Hollywood sits at the beach end of Bangla, opposite Tiger Nightclub. The walk inland to Illuzion takes 5 minutes through the open-air beer bars.
