The concept sounds gimmicky until you experience it. A hotel pool ringed by balconies, a proper stage at one end, and a crowd of several hundred people in swimwear watching a genuinely good artist perform while floating in water. It shouldn't work as well as it does, but the combination of sun, music, and the absurdity of the setting creates something memorable.
I attended a Craig David afternoon that was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek but turned into one of the best sets I saw on the island. The crowd sang along to every track, people were dancing in the pool, and the energy was pure joy. The stage production is simpler than a club but the intimacy of the hotel courtyard compensates.
Drinks are pool-bar priced, which means expensive but not shocking. The queue at the main bar gets long during peak moments, so ordering two at a time makes sense. Food options are basic poolside fare: burgers, fries, and fruit platters.
Ibiza Rocks works because it occupies a time slot that other venues don't. From 3 to 10 PM, most clubs are closed and most bars are quiet.
