Zouk KL
Zouk KL occupies a sprawling ground-floor space inside the TREC entertainment complex on Jalan Tun Razak, about a 10-minute walk east of Changkat Bukit Bintang. The club is part of the Singapore-born Zouk brand, and the KL outpost maintains the same standard of production. Three distinct rooms spread across roughly 12,000 square feet: the main room handles the big-name DJs and holds around 800 people, Phuture leans into hip-hop and R&B with a younger crowd, and Ace is the intimate lounge space for those who want to talk over their drinks. The sound system is custom-built for the space, and the lighting rig competes with anything in Southeast Asia outside of Singapore. International bookings have included Tiesto, Hardwell, and Martin Garrix, while resident DJs fill weekends with a rotation of house, techno, and progressive sets. TREC's surrounding units include several pre-game bars and food spots, making the complex a self-contained nightlife destination.
What to Expect
Walking through the TREC complex toward Zouk, you'll pass several smaller bars that serve as warm-up spots. The club entrance has a queue system with separate lines for guest list, general admission, and table reservations. Inside, the main room hits you with a wall of sound and a lighting rig that fills the ceiling. The energy builds from around 11:30 PM and peaks between 1:00 AM and 2:30 AM.
High-energy main room with serious sound and lighting production. Phuture is louder and more aggressive. Ace is the quiet escape.
Main room: progressive house, tech-house, EDM with international headliners. Phuture: hip-hop, R&B, trap. Ace: deep house, lounge electronica
Smart casual minimum. No flip-flops, no sleeveless shirts for men, no shorts. Clean sneakers are generally accepted. Dark jeans and a fitted shirt work fine.
Serious clubbers who want production quality comparable to international venues. Groups that want to split between different music rooms without leaving the building.
Cards widely accepted inside. Cash works at the door. Grab Pay accepted at the bar in some areas.

Insider Tip
Arrive before 11:30 PM on Saturdays to skip the worst of the queue. Tables with bottle service bypass the line entirely. Phuture room tends to be less packed if the main room DJ isn't your style. Check Zouk's Instagram for the weekly lineup before committing to a night.
Full Review
TREC's layout means you approach Zouk through a courtyard of smaller venues, which gives the complex a festival-compound feel that most standalone clubs lack. The entrance queue on Saturday nights stretches 20 to 30 minutes by midnight, so arriving before 11:30 PM or booking a table saves time.
The main room is where the investment shows. The sound system is tuned properly, not just loud. Bass hits your chest without distorting the mids, and you can hold a conversation at the edges of the room if you need to. The DJ booth sits elevated above the dance floor, flanked by LED panels that sync with the music. On headliner nights, the production rivals mid-tier European clubs.
Phuture draws a younger crowd that skews local. The music policy leans heavy on hip-hop and trap, with MCs occasionally working the mic over the DJ's set. It fills up faster than the main room on most nights because the hip-hop crowd arrives earlier. The vibe is more casual and less posture-driven than the main floor.
Drink service at the main bar can be slow during peak hours. The trick is to use the smaller bars in Phuture or Ace, where the wait drops to a minute or two. Bottle service tables get dedicated attention, and the minimum spend of MYR 800 to 1,500 splits reasonably across a group of four to six. The markup on spirits is standard for a club of this caliber.
The Neighborhood
TREC complex on Jalan Tun Razak holds half a dozen other venues alongside Zouk. Electric Boulevard, the outdoor area connecting the units, has its own bar. The complex sits between Bukit Bintang and the Ampang elevated highway, making it accessible from both nightlife zones. Late-night food options are limited within TREC itself, but Jalan Alor is a MYR 10 Grab ride away.
Getting There
Grab from Bukit Bintang MRT takes 5-10 minutes and costs MYR 8-15. Walking from Changkat takes about 15 minutes along Jalan Tun Razak, though the route isn't particularly pedestrian-friendly after dark. The nearest LRT station is Ampang Park, about a 12-minute walk. Most people Grab both ways.
