Pablo Discobar
Pablo Discobar brings Latin American cocktail culture to a Reykjavik side street at Veltusund 1, a narrow alley near the harbor. The decor goes full tropical: colorful murals, neon signs, and a jungle of plastic plants covering the ceiling. The cocktail menu focuses on rum-based drinks, tequila, and Latin-inspired creations. On weekends, DJs play Latin, funk, and disco while the compact space fills with people who came for drinks and stayed to dance.

Full Review
Pablo Discobar is a mood more than a bar. The interior commits fully to its Latin theme with a maximalist approach that works because it's done with humor and confidence. Every surface has color, every corner has a plant, and the bartenders make drinks with enough flair to match the decor.
The cocktail program is the strongest draw. Rum-heavy creations, proper margaritas, and a few tequila-based originals give it a menu that stands out from Reykjavik's beer-and-basic-cocktail norm. Happy hour pricing brings cocktails down to something approaching reasonable.
As the night progresses, the music shifts from background Latin jazz to dancefloor reggaeton and disco. The bar's small size means the transition from drinking to dancing happens naturally as bodies press closer together. By midnight on Saturdays, the line outside signals that capacity has been reached.
This place works best as part of a longer night. Start here for cocktails and energy, then migrate to Paloma or Kaffibarinn when the crowd maxes out.
