Tropic Club
Tropic Club operates as a summer-only open-air nightclub near Bacvice Beach, positioned along Put Firula east of the main bay. The venue builds its concept around a tropical bar theme with palm decorations, tiki elements, and an outdoor dance floor that sits under the stars rather than a ceiling. The capacity is around 500-600, smaller than Central Club but large enough for a proper club atmosphere. Music programming ranges from deep house to mainstream chart hits depending on the night, with the DJ booth facing the dance floor and the bar running along one side. The crowd skews younger and more backpacker-heavy than Central, partly because several nearby hostels funnel their pub crawls here. Drink prices are slightly lower than Central's, making Tropic the more budget-friendly late-night option in the Bacvice area. The club opens around 11 PM and runs until 4-5 AM during peak summer months.
What to Expect
An open-air club with tropical theming and a young, international crowd. The dance floor is outdoors, which means fresh air and stars overhead. The atmosphere is more party than polish. The crowd is friendly and vacation-oriented. Don't expect high production value; this is a beach party, not a festival stage.
Young, international, and beach-party casual. The outdoor setting keeps things loose.
Deep house, commercial house, chart hits, and hip-hop depending on the night and DJ
Casual. Beach-to-club transitions are normal here. No strict enforcement.
Young travelers, backpackers, budget-conscious clubbers, anyone wanting an open-air party without the price premium of Central Club.

Full Review
Tropic Club fills the space between the beach bars and Central Club on the Bacvice nightlife spectrum. It's proper club-level volume and energy, but without the production overhead or the prices of Split's biggest venue.
The outdoor format is the defining feature. Dancing under open sky rather than under a ceiling changes the experience meaningfully. The temperature stays comfortable even on hot nights. The sound carries differently outdoors, which means the bass is less oppressive and conversations at the bar are actually possible.
The tropical theme is present in the decorations and bar setup but doesn't dominate. Palm motifs, tiki bar elements, and string lights create a holiday-party aesthetic. It's not trying to be sophisticated. It's trying to be fun, and it succeeds at that.
The crowd composition reflects the venue's proximity to Split's hostel district. Young international travelers form a significant contingent, with Australians, British, and Americans well-represented during peak summer. Croatian locals are present but form a smaller proportion than at venues with less tourist orientation. The age range clusters in the 18-28 bracket.
Hostel pub crawls route through Tropic regularly, which creates predictable surge points around midnight to 1 AM when organized groups arrive. This can flood the bar queue momentarily but also ensures the dance floor reaches critical mass quickly.
Drink prices are the budget advantage. Beer at EUR 5-6 and cocktails at EUR 9-13 undercut Central Club by EUR 1-3 per drink. Over a night of several rounds, the savings add up.
The limitation is seasonal operation. Tropic is a summer venue that doesn't exist from October through May. And within the operating season, the experience varies significantly between a quiet Tuesday and a packed Saturday.
